Mako is protected anymore. I took my 17ft skiff just inside the Spencer canyon this year on an overnight. I had 2 yellowfin and released a 200 class mako at night. Recently I've been about 10 miles inshore of Spencer and mangling mahi with some wahoo mixed in. The amount of butt hurt dudes in bigger boats is awesome. I'm getting ready now to head out. Love the name btw. I went from hopeless heroin addict to hopeful fishing addict. Over 7 years now. I'm going to be trailering to Palm Beach on Thanksgiving to get a sail or sword on a skiff. I've been loving getting out way before light and lighting my boat up and getting live flying fish. They have been flying in my boat all year
