use your hands to grab the bo staff fight your way to the gun use it until it's out of ammo revert to the bo staff until it breaks then your hands. and don't stop until victory.
@aidenfurry471

+Chameleon T.S use the bo-staff then when it breaks use the two halves (ex. nightwings escrima sticks) until they break then throw the parts at your opponents and use your opponents momentum against them (at this point you'd be wondering why haven't they picked up the gun yet(this is that part) you were working your way over to it while fighting) when your opponent picks up the gun use a tactic not normally in martial arts (i honestly don't know if it is please correct me if i'm wrong) when they point the gun at you quickly push it out of the way and keep pushing till you're back to back (at this point you would have the gun) hit their back and lock arms then flip them (you can see an example of this in the tv show Arrow) from there it's just a matter of shooting till you run out of ammo and then purely using your hands after throwing the gun

The one quote I remember best from your Channel and which has guided me through my martial arts life since I heard it is: Block rather than hurt, hurt rather than Maim, Maim rather than kill. I wouldn't go for the Gun because I wouldn't like to pull the Trigger, i'd Defend with the staff.

Use the hands and feet to strike some distance between you two , immediately snatch the staff and use that distance to your advantage. If they rush in, they are likely to be rocked from a solid overhand staff strike, if they don’t rush in, that’s good. Because either way, immediately run for the gun, but keep your back to the gun to make sure you don’t give an enemy a free naked choke from the back. Glance at where the gun’s at. If you are within arms reach, throw a wide, looping staff strike the enemy will likely catch and attempt to take it away. Basic psychology. After a little struggle, drop the staff, keeping them off guard, and then grab the gun as fast as possible. At gun point, politely ask for the staff back. Give the guy a 20 to thank him for your practice, and so he’ll then leave you alone This only works if your opponent is unaware of the gun and is unarmed himself.

What's better for self defense? The Glock (I prefer 1911's, so it's now a 1911) is 20ft away The bo staff is within arm's reach And your fists are (of course) where fists are supposed to be..... What's better? METT-TC. Personally, I'm gonna try for the 1911... Not only is a one-sided firefight the LAST thing an assailant wants to engage in, but I'm also well-versed with firearms; I've trained fairly extensively and even took a trip to AFG to do doorkicking things with my friends.... HOWEVER, that may not be an option... If the 6ft stick is closer, it may be required to smack the assailant upside the head or across the knee to gain some time to get to the 1911 (that is, if the successful deployment of the bo didn't already stop the confrontation), because bigger and badder is always better... HOWEVER, that also may not be an option... If we're squared-up and they're coming at me, a solid punch to the face can either end the confrontation or again buy me the time to get to the 1911 because again, bigger and badder is always better... So, there's your answer: METT-TC. It's situationally dependent. :)

I hate the 1911's safety system. I hate having the hammer cocked all the time, but I hate having to cock the hammer or mess with the hammer safety. I like the 1911 for aesthetics, but I am way more comfortable having my striker fire with one in the pipe ready to go whenever I squeeze the trigger.

Since I never leave my house without my CC handgun I would use my hand to grab it. Never seen a Bo laying around in a place weapons aren't allowed like airports, schools, or federal buildings. If your chasing me with a weapon or intent to harm me I have 20 reasons for you not to and another 20 reasons in my pocket if that's not enough. I might get cut or a broken arm, but would feel much more comfortable coming out alive with a pistol. Good workout and you are impressive with it. I own a 6' Bo with slightly tapered ends and I was pretty decent with it when I was 16. Nowhere near at your level handling it. I was taught some disarming, katas, and sparring, but that was a long time ago. I decided to invest my defence training into handguns when I turned 21 and got my CCW permit.

To say the least. Ones hands have great potential for many things, secondly ones feet are made to stand, walk and in most opportune times kick or sweep. I think the rest speaks for it self as far as being worldly objects and not to be depended on as crutches as far as your capability is concerned to reach for a weapon is to be afraid and to be afraid is to turn away from clarity and contentment and ultimately serenity. This is just my opinion, I apologize if I've offended any one

unarmed combat 1st.... I've got more years of training it it Bokken 2rd sorry I just like Bokken style more and it feels nicer in my hands I HAVE to mix in some punches elbows knees kicks and throws too though. Gun no never..... a gun even in a zombie out break would be the last weapon I'd use on my list of weapons........... too much sound and people seem to forget there are two MASSIVE weaknesses with all guns.... what you want to know what the weaknesses are... okay...... weakness 1........... AMMO!..... ammo runs out, melee weapons and unarmed combat does really run out of ammo weakness 2........ guns aren't made with the idea of being up close....... picture yourself in a zombie out break you NEVER carry any weapon other than your favorite gun and in this hypothetical zombie out break you have 0 fighting training..... you just ran out of ammo... more zombies are coming... you can't hide there is nowhere to hide.... how useful is that gun now?

I trust first the Bo Staff, I have always one in the right side of the bed, between the bed and the table... I use it not only as a weapon but as a Mystic Weapon in other kind of Arts, but It's my first choice, then my hands and feet, and then the Glock or Taurus in my case, which I had but I sold it, and now I see that it might be useful in the world we live in!

The answer to your 1st question: You use the hands, which are with you always, to acquire the staff that's within arms' reach, to fight your way to the gun that 20' away. Now you have all 3 weapons, to win any fight -- near, mid-distance or far. The the best fight, of course, is the fight not fought, while one is always ready & able to win any. 😊

I'm a Sho-dan in Ishinru/okunouwin military karate. Your hands and feet would be best, being that they are a part of you. You only truly connect to the Bo staff when you properly hold it which takes time. a gun can be inacurate in a designated spot. But what do I know...

How does it feel in your hands to use a staff made of bamboo?

Well, in a house (assuming it is a house or a tight room) typically a 6 foot long metal/wooden stick wont be very mobile. A gun requires training ( a bo staff does too, however we have already decided that a bo staff isn't a good weapon in that scenario). your fists can be a deadly weapon however using fists and hands/legs as weapons is very difficult to train as it takes a long time. I would grab a bo staff if they had a knife or a stick or whatever, however if they had a gun i would reason/distract them to somehow get to the gun and then proceed with however is necessary.

Best weapon is everything you have at that moment, each and every thing can be deadly weapon. It's just the game of perspective.

Bo staff. You can reach it immediately and you can also you have a longer reach. Besides you can still use hand and foot techniques while using the bo staff

(awnser to the question in the begining) it depends on what weapon the other person has. if they have a gun or knife or something like that than the staff, if they have no weapon than hands

Well the answer to your question depends on the actual situation, I believe that until the point I have reached Boo staff my hands and my body is my best weapon, when I have boo staff in my hand I will use that as a weapon as I can get more aggressive using that if someone is attacking on me, and lastly I'll try to reach to a point where the gun is kept and as soon as I get it I will use gun as a weapon as I can shoot my enemy from a distance so it's more likely that I will not be getting hurt by my enemy. (Provided I'm able to use all the weapons in best possible way) But now my question is why do we need to use it at all, martial arts is not a thing to show off or to dominate over someone, it is basically used to defend ourselves and Defend the weak from getting bullied. So by the means of this comment I would like to say "we all should live with a feeling of mutual respect and brotherhood towards each other, stay calm, stay safe, stay happy and spread love"

it depends: gun-if the attacker is with you then they could just as easily get it so thats a no. staff-if your experienced and know you can fight better with it rather than bear hands then staff it is. hands-same as the staff.
