Epic Comic Book Collection Haul Mystery Box Unboxing Key Issue Finds Silver Age Bronze Age Gold Age

In this video I open up a mystery box of comics that is a random comic trade with one of my channel viewers, it had a few small key issues and silver age comics. See what was inside the Mystery Box Of Comics.
I open up a box of comics from Ebay with some sweet Bronze age comics in it including a key issue.
I show you a collection of 85 comics I pick up from a local Junk / Thrift store including some awesome Sonic The Hedgehog comics and some high grade Bronze Age comics.
I read a short comic drawn for me by a young man who shops at my store regularly.
And finally I open up a epic box of Bronze, Silver and Golden age comics that includes humor comics, Cartoon comics, Romance Comics and some other awesome stuff.
See which comics I picked up in this haul and which comics I am most excited to add to my collection.

I know grading is subjective. Would you be willing to do a video on what to look for on comics when looking at condition? Like a kinda unofficial frading guide. When comic shopping, I notice defects..just dont know how much roughly each defect is worth. Maybe terminology as well? Just would like some sort of rough gauge to use for myself. Im asking you because your quite thorough in your explanations. I know Im asking a lot..lol

I would not say I am an expert in grading, what I tend to do is look at graded comics and get a general feel of where each grade lies, so I am not 100% accurate but I can guess the approximate grades when I look at comics etc.. Sometimes lower grades look nicer but have a major flaw that drops it down such as a popped staple. I guess I could do a video on what to look for that effects grade etc. That would be fun, and maybe doing some research will teach me a thing or two as well.

More Comic book hauls?! Yessssssssssss!! The vintage Toy Fair catalog must be rare because I have never seen one before. A steal at 5 bucks! Always cool to look at vintage stuff, especially toys. Love old romance comic books for the same reasons as you: clothes, fashion, cars, etc., that reflects their times. BTW, check the interiors of these Prize Comics, some of them might have Simon & Kirby (who worked at Prize Comics on romances, crimes, and westerns) art and story in them, bringing up their value. DEAN MARTIN & JERRY LEWIS : I collect these and have never seen a issue #3! Even in this condition, worth at least 15 to 25 $ on Ebay. Maybe even more! Issue #24 looks at least VG to me, at least $25 to $35 on Ebay.

Yeah when I saw that catalog and he said $5 I had the urge to throw money at him right there lol I had to play it cool because nothing is priced and they sometimes charge way too much for things. $5 was probably a steal and worth multiple times that easily. Either way I love having it and looking through all the neat old toys. Yeah the romance stuff is wonderful, has a lot of great art and I think a better representation of contemporary life of the time vs super heroes, sci fi and horror etc. And you can find it for a small fraction of the cost compared to other genres. Definitely undervalued stuff. I will definitely check all the Prize comics, it would be awesome if a few of them had Simon or Kirby work in them. I was a little nervous I overpaid for the lot because I saw a lot of beat up Bronze Age comics in the listing photos but once I saw all the comics in person I realized I had a steal of a deal. So many of the Golden Age comics were a solid G to VG condition with a few higher grades and not too many in poor-fair grade. I think many of them if sold separately would sell in the $10-$30 range pretty easily. I am super thrilled to add them to my collection though I hope I can track down a few more lots like this. It was a ton of fun. I only see 1 Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis #3 that sold on ebay and that was part of a lot of them. Must be pretty rare. Love the covers on both of them though, I will definitely be looking for more issues from the run.

An honestly stuff from the 1950s is going to be mostly beat up when you find it so overall the conditions were not that bad on the comics. Even the tattered ripped up ones were not missing pieces. If the comic is 100% complete and you can unfold the dog eared pieces and it displays well in a backer board and bag I am happy. And the best part, you can read them and enjoy them minimum fear of loosing a ton of value by handing the comics.

Yeah its harder finding the old ones for a good price in good shape. It took me a while to realize you have to accept a bit lower grade on them if you want to collect them.

I noticed you got a Sword of Azrael 1. It's Azrael's 1st appearance. Love all the golden age comics. I've been picking up more of them lately. Love the golden age Christmas covers. :-)

I think you got a good deal. The Whitman comics are reprints and a lot of people consider them reader copies. However, you picked up some westerns. A lot of western collectors seek out westerns with photo covers and you have a couple of them on this video.

TOMB OF DRACULA 7 TO 70 are precious to me but to other TOD fans, #25 is extra special because it features the first appearance of HANNIBAL KING: VAMPIRE DETECTIVE! I bought it WAAY later after seeing Hannibal in later adventures but the shock ending of this issue is still powerful!

Granted, It’s a later Issue (Not drawn by Bernie Wrightson; He only drew Issues 1-10.), drawn by his worthy successor Philippino Master Artist Nestor Redondo (Who also drew the really cool D. C. My dad was born in 48, he was not really a comic kid but I am sure there were kids his age who would have been buying comics in the mid to late 50s that were 6-10 years old. I really like the Romance comics covers (and have posted many on the FB group). A lot of really good artists like John Romita, Jay Scott Pike, Joe Sinnott, and Don Heck worked on those Silver Age romance titles. And Stan Lee, of course, wrote a lot of them.

I am happy you enjoy them. Most modern comics do not have much value after their release, you can buy tons of them for 50 cents to $1 each so on their own their value just goes down due to a lack of demand after they are new releases. That being said digital code removal will have a negative effect on comics, if a comic shoots up in value a missing code could be a huge downgrade in condition and value. Amazing Spider Man 238 the first appearance of Hobgoblin has these mini small tattoos inside a advertising envelope attached to the comic. If they are missing but you still have the envelope and everything else attached to the comic its value drops in half or more. They are meaningless to the story and the comic but people really will not pay a premium for the comic if they are missing etc. Same will hold true for the digital codes. But if you are using them to read the comics digitally, I would not stop. You get more value reading the comics then any future value you may gain.
