Epic Comic Book Collection Pickups Garage Sale Haul Silver Age Bronze Age Golden Age Key Issue Video

In this video I show you several thrift store Comic Hauls, a few Comic Book Collections I purchased, 1 Facebook comic Book Deal , a Really cool X-Men board game and a few ebay deals. Tons of great key issues from the Silver and Bronze Age. Some weird Silver Age comics and even a few Golden Age Comic Book pick ups.
It is spring time and with the beautiful weather comes spring cleaning which means tons of comics are being cleared out of peoples homes, basements and garages.
I am picking up tons of comic book collections this month and in this video I show you a bunch of the comics and collections that I purchased.
See which modern age comics, Golden Age comics, silver age comics and which Bronze Age comics I picked up this week and see which key issue comics I add to my collection.

I try to, I really appreciate when someone takes the time to write something to me or my videos so I like to respond back. Sometimes its even a really nice conversation or a great question to answer. Yeah I spent way too much on comics this month because of all the deals falling into my lap but I have been working like crazy sorting through everything I have trying to find enough duplicates to sell to recover everything I spent. That is kinda how I collect, buy collections, keep what I need and sell off the duplicates. It is really the only way I can collect for the most part. It also means you can collect a ton, as long as you are recycling your money back to buy again. Thanks for watching :)

I was able to acquire a run of Elfquests (missing #2 - many were later printings) with some other books. I was able to sell the entire run to a co-worker “on- the-cheap”. They were happy, so I was happy! :€)

Nah I like being able to open it and smell it and all that good stuff so I probably would not get it slabbed. I suspect it would get a green label 1.5 or 2 unless its missing pages then it might be a .5 to 1 green label.

Considering a NM on that detective is 2100.00 I think you did good. I would have pulled out 40 for it.

Yeah that is why I was not too sure how much to spend on it, high grade is worth a ton. Its very low grade but it looks very presentable, I have seen some low grades that look like garbage, this one is actually kinda nice.

Iron Man 117 is the first appearance of that villain on the cover if you haven't researched that in the last 2 years. So why are a couple of those Adventure Time books called Phantom variants? What's the significance? So what's important about GI Joe 107 and 115? Also as I'm sure by now you know, in that Longshot mini, was the first appearance of the villains spiral and Mojo. A distant soil was a book in the seventies or eighties and there were different volumes of it, by Colleen Doran who I've metby the way. Nice lady if you ever got the chance to meet her, but she is kind of type that doesn't take any bull crap LOL I think the first volume of that is magazine size and there's another one later on that was regular comic sized. Actually now that I think about it Doran was the editor of that book and it was generally an anthology series with different stories but she also contributed with her own stuff. If you're at all familiar with Ninja Turtle stuff there was a character that entered TMNT universe called panda Khan, kind of like usagi Yojimbo. The 1st app of panda Khan was in an issue of the smaller regular comic sized version of a distant soil title. I think that Marvel presents 4 is the 5th or 6th app of the Guardians, original team obviously, the best one my opinion, since I'm a big fan of the series in the 90s. Yes pretty neat, those Archie Shadow books from the late 60s are kind of difficult to find, especially in decent shape. I have the third one that you showed by the way. Wow, so you've never heard of Archie's action heroes? The mighty Crusaders? I'm supposed knowing you're such a big comic guy. I've known about them for over 15 years, but that's just me. If you find a first appearance of some of those characters, they might go for as much as the first appearance of some of the ACG characters back in the day, but not quite as much as original Quality Comics first appearances. But as far as Archie action heroes, the first app the most important and the rest of the books especially if they're in mid grade or better could be from 15 to 30 bucks for like a regular issue. I guess they're probably on par with charlton's Action Hero line but Archie did it for longer than Charlton was messing with superheroes. oh wow, very neat, that Blue Beetle book is the first appearance of the villain praying mantis man, I happen to have that as well. isn't Strange Tales 179 the first pip the troll or is it the first unnamed app of Gamora? I have one of those kind of X-Men games from back in the day, but not that particular one, if I I'm recalling correctly I think mine was about the danger room.

The Phantom variants are rare variants made for a few shops so they are semi rare. Usually less then a few thousand made if that. Issues over 100 of G.I. Joe are lower print run so most are in the $5-$10 range. The last 4-5 issues in the 150s are super low print and sell in the $50+ range. I am not sure if any of them have specific key moments but I do know they are harder to find for a good price. Thanks for all the info again and you I believe you are correct on Strange Tales 179

Do you have any tips for finding good, large comic lots on eBay? I find the ones I see look good at first but are clearly filled with modern crap. I prefer stuff from the 70s, 80s and early 90s.

Look for what looks like an actual collection for sale and not so much leftovers from a vendor or a collector etc. I have found really good comics mixed into collections like that.

It truly boggles my mind when a hear shop owners poorly treat potential comic buyer who wants to purchase a large quantities of books. Shop owners focus on selling not turning away customers!! This is not the first time a hear this! I don’t get it. Having been in the food retail business all my life I don’t get it!

Pop Fun To Play I for sure understand! I’m sure you know by now but it’s the first appearance of “Skinny Alfred” and possibly the batcave (CGC notes it as that but I think another book had it 1st.) I have one but I was hoping to snag this one, your cover looks a little better than mine!

Yeah from what I understand before that issue the Batcave was a tunnel between the mansion and garage etc but this issue first showed it as an underground complex.

It depends for me, if someone has to look something up I let them but if they decide to price it at listed ebay prices and not a reasonable price then I dont buy or ask a price again. If they tell me they are selling for about $20 regularly on ebay so I will give you a little deal at $15 etc then I will continue to shop. But yes having things prices before hand makes it way easier to decide what you want to buy.

I am a dealer I buy and sell stuff for a living. I don't really sell comics for a living because they are hard to sell and do not sell fast or well but having a store it makes it easier for me to sell off duplicates, things I do not want. And I always try to buy as if I was going to sell something so I know I am getting a good price. Its a good way to collect.
