Play cEDH, green is pretty much the worst color in the format if not being played in 5c lists or very specifically Chulane. It is really annoying actually... Even Brostorm isn't particularly powerful compared to Turbo Naus metas. It is kind of depressing ._.

To be fair, Gaurav said he wouldn't kill her for 2 turns, but offering 2 turns of immunity when your treasures re going to hurt you and it's down to 1v1 is RISKY

All they do is help consistency a bit, which is not as important for casual MTG while it's fairly important to be able to showcase all 4 decks in the same game. It'd be nice if when they did it they included a "reasonably priced manabase" as an alternative but for making content the last thing you want is someone getting mana screwed.

I love that Juri deck especially, I love doing well known archetypes like sacrifice, but using a less powerful and more restrictive commander than something like korvald to force some fun creativity

Yeah is more like people doesn't know when to stop spending life in front of aggro/aristocrats/burn. Playing aristocrats myself I saw many times people paying life up to around 15 just for the sake of a little more value and feeling safe in front of a "blood artist" on board.

Hahaha, nothing like a burn/aristocrats deck to take advantage of low life totals. I find that that's how Juri does best. If you come out swinging (easily done with a 2cmc commander), you paint a target on yourself before you can really impact the board. And life-as-resource cards are broken in edh normally, so it's nice to see the strategy turned around on itself

I actually resolved mine, for the 1st time in my classic yawgmoth deck, last night with my play group an went to 7 life. Killed one person and died hella hard. So worth it! Haha. Super fun card. Glad it shined not once but twice!

I often leave attacks out, when I have a late game deck. There is no need to pressure other players, fasten the game etc. Just don't get focused, because your life total is the highest :)

Thromok-Fling is one of my favorite things to do. Make seven tokens. Cast Thromok, Devour 7 for 7 tokens, 49/49 Thromok. Punch someone with Thromok. Fling Thromok at someone. It's great.

Juri's only downside is that you can run out of gas really fast. This game it just so happens that two players decided to go balls to the walls with Citadel and Mayhem Devil ready with someone willing to burn 6 treasures (and 10 other stuffs) Still a fun deck to play!

@@exposfan94movies She also killed someone else earlier due to the ability of her Commander and between the synergy w/ sacrifice effects as well as politics. The game would have been different if she wasn't able to dome for 16. An uncommon commander build was able to accomplish that.

I think she was just laying low. Her deck is meant to kill people outta nowhere and Juri needs to be present for that to happen. Her commander is fragile and I think that she knew the early damage wasn't as important as not having to cast her commander multiple times. She is playing Rackdos after all, so mana can be hard to come by.

But it was the mayhem devil on top of it all that ended up killing him. Otherwise he would have been low, but outside of immediate death range from Juri. I've definitely overlooked similar things in games where you just kind of forget how different players abilities trigger other players abilities because you're too focused on one specific thing to glance at the rest of the battlefield.

Pixie is mistaken when she says, “betrayal.” The deal she made only kept her from being attacked, so she was under no obligation to refrain from hitting anyone. Wording is critical.

Gameknights happens about once per month and the production level is higher, they put more animations, the between-plays comments, etc Extra turns are more raw and can happen more often since they dont need to work so hard with production/editing

@@samuelwood8010 yeah, juri is a lot cooler for having this wildcard fling subtheme, that can kill you out of nowhere, but carddraw on commanders is just so much more powerful. Don’t get me wrong, I love playing with lower power decks and commanders, but I was just referring to the statement, that juri is overlooked and underrated. Of cause it is, when there is another card that does most things you do, but better and also opens you up to green spells

Gosh, the past 3 days I've been studying Varina to build her later down the road and Craig gave me so much inspiration for this.

If you want a different way to play her, I started with a zombie build then swapped that out for a Esper Control "Lich" deck using her zombies to draw through the deck and stabilize with the life gain. Lich's Mastery and Alhamarret's Archive as the late game draw and finishing with Approach of the Second Sun.

@@BuckysKnifeFlip I've got a lot of plans, this one is gonna rely on tutors, alhammaret's and Bolas's Citadel to sac out all my tokens I'll be just spitting out. Reanimation and evasion will be what I rely on most to manipulate my graveyard and keep Varina on the Battlefield. AFR and Innestrad have some really amazing new cards that just can't be slept on. This deck has so much value thanks to Innstrad now I have Approach of the Second Sun in my Pillowfort Grouphug Deck where I'll eventually just lock up the game with Kwain.

@@BuckysKnifeFlip My current Esper deck is REAL control. I use Nihiloor and have a ton of ways to steal creatures from opponents and sacrifice them for value. Card draw, life gain, counters. Hard to beat and its only $140

Craig's deck is good, but a lot came out of the powerhouse thay Bolas's Citadel is, there are superior synergy cards to find for the deck.... Murph's deck truly had a vintage commander and I really liked the idea ... Gaurav's human tribal is strong with good effects overall and cards strong on their own due to the deck colors... The most synergistic deck really was Pixie's, EVERYTHING was about the sacrificing and value, I really liked it

I’m still waiting for magic IP versions of the Walking Dead cards so I can internally justify their existence. Nothing against anyone that plays them, I just hate that the cards exist in their present state with no magic-IP alternatives

Craig should have gained some life from his commander's attack trigger. He still would have been taken out but it would have use more resources from the other players. Great game to watch though! Would love a deck tech on Murph's deck. He always has fun and unique decks!!
