FYI after you put down the pickup from the 8track box, that's not a soldering iron.. it's a degausser it de-magnatizes tape heads of a reel to reel or cassette deck.. reel to reel maintenance is important.. clean the heads, rollers, de-magnatize the heads, put on the MRL test tone tape and bias all the channels... there you go.

The PIONEER cassette deck is a great find and very collectable.I found the same deck in a junk store for $25 and a Nakamichi cassette deck for $10 at a carboot sale ,so this stuff is still out there to be found !Well done.

Those speakers with 4 tweeters and 4 mids are of Philips speaker manufacturer design, and those are parts are also from Philips, but the woofers are not, they were very efficient and clear sounding. Nice find!

I've had some epic scores at garage sales and charity shops, but estate sales, at least in my experiences, have always been a big zero. Most estate sales in my area are done by professionals and they go pretty much like this. Day one, everything is overpriced, unless it's something you really want and plan on keeping. Day two, everything is 25% off and the seriously good stuff is gone, but the stuff you want that remains is still overpriced. Day three, everything is 50% off OBO, but all the good stuff is gone. Parking is almost always a hassle and estate sale customers can be really aggressive and rude.

Nice yard sale haul bud! I always buy up vintage audio equipment when I see it, thanks for the info on Zep II, very cool, those blank 8 tracks have to be pretty rare, cool to find those. I dig that label maker, that looks like a nice one, ours was plastic back in the day. Peace.

Star Trek Poster and Bart Shirt is why I love to go to those things... never know what you are going to see! That Dubsplash 84... I would have picked it up for the same reason you did... It looked different and unique! Great share as always my man! Always fun to watch the shenanigans you get yourself into! Have a Happy Turkey Day !

Super cool, and super fun! Amazing estate sale finds. Wow! And nice records too, Dillon! Queen live! sweet! I've been on a Queen kick since seeing the Bohemian Rhapsody movie. Very cool Richard and Linda Thompson album! I LOVE there stuff and am totally unfamiliar with that album. Nice score!! Floyd, Zep, James Brown...and an RL "hot mix" Zep II!!!?? Dude! Holy Crap! Fantastic finds! Enjoyed this video immensely, Dillon. Thanks for sharing. Skol, Jeff

Hi Dillon. Been binge watching your videos and really enjoy your stories. Had to comment, as others have, on that Shure cart. They ask $300+ for a brand new never used V15 type IV on ebay. Those need a really low mass tonearm to perform well.

At about 7:20 thats almost certainly a DeArmond guitar pickup, made as an add-on for converting an acoustic guitar, especially an archtop acoustic guitar, to play through an amplifier. That pickup is probably worth a couple hundred bucks or more. There was another version known as the monkey on a stick pickup that was made specifically for archtop guitars but without the big metal bracing in with a different volume and tone control box, and that one routinely fetches 2 to $300. Those pickups sound great, better than a lot of modern add on acoustic guitar pickups. Not super clean sounding, but excellent for slide guitar Blues.
@goodun60815 жыл бұрын
@@noblerecords , I suppose it could be a teisco knock off of a DeArmond, but either way it'll be worth some money. The teisco pickups with pseudo gold foil, and the Dearmond pickups with kind of a toaster top slot arrangement, both have desirable guitar tone.

Congrats on those finds. You got one hell of a deal. I recently got a vintage quad receiver and some Bose 501s for 50 bucks. I need 2 more speakers so I can have a quadraphonic setup. I found some Santana quadraphonic records and I’m looking forward to hearing them.
@RWL20125 жыл бұрын
how are the 501s...? even after restoring mine, their unequalised sound is very harsh on the treble. I have 2KHz (crossover point) cut by 7.5dB on my EQ...

Oh, damn... I'd shit if I found a RL copy of Zep2 in the wild. Also, nice score on the R&L Thompson too. Linda Ronstadt has been my obsession of late. Not really sure why I discounted her in the past, but she made some incredible records. Between what I inherited from my dad, and a few I found recently, I've now got every one of her releases between 1969-1984. Heart Like a Wheel is one of my favorite records ever, by anyone.
