I've owned the Ridgid R86211B for about a year now, I've removed 3 transmissions including removing the rusted exhaust from Canadian winters, almost completely took apart a ford explorer for parting out, removing old rust bolts on abused farm equipment, and a trailer ball rusted to a bumper that my friend bent his breaker bar on trying to loosen. No power loss yet, no damage to the exterior and I have a bad habit of tossing it onto my gravel driveway. It's definitely worth the I'd say, especially if you live where the bottom of vehicles become rust.

It seems more powerful than my older one, and it can be set to be really gentle. The drill is more appropriately sized for my use. First off the Octane line has been officially canceled. I dont know it for a fact but I believe the Octane line was canceled because alot of people had bluetooth connectivity issues with the batteries. I think a lot of people use these videos as a review of the products and not publishing a video on the product because you wanted to test the other ones first (while showing each of those) seems more like you wanted to save the best for last. But you have been continually saying that the Milwaukee is the best performing despite knowing that it wasn't. I still appreciate all the work you guys do it just seems a little less facts and a little more show to do it this way. I am sure a lot of people have already purchased the Milwaukee thinking it was the most powerful.
@TorqueTestChannel3 жыл бұрын
It may stink as a viewer as bit, but the fact is we do this all the time because when we first test stuff we dont really know anything about them. We needed to test several different air hammers to know that rig was working correctly. This was our 2nd high torque and for all we knew our dyno could not read cordless impacts correctly without buying more models. This happened to us with 3/4" air impacts, our 1st one was a dog, not a whole lot more beans than a 1/2". Instead of just publishing that and defacing the brand we got a few more over the next couple month and realized our air system, heck even plugging a 3/4" impact into 3/4" cast iron pipe does not supply enough air to keep it fed to the manufacturers spec. May be your 1st time hearing this and that's because we like to gather context and info before we spread around our random thoughts and assumptions. We have to do this with different batteries, different tools like impact drivers and more all the time. If we published stuff as soon as we shot it, it would be us just talking out our behinds. As video on the Ridgid when we got it would have been about how M18's is overrated and it took us 1 try to beat it, followed by a couple months of us being wrong over and over again. But anyone watching just that video would have a poor picture of the M18's performance - which is actually still at the very top.

If I were to take a guess having never used either impact. The ridgid is probably based off the milwaukee useing cheaper materials. Cheaper materials results in larger size and more weight. Larger size and more weight result in less tool movement aka wrist breaking score which means more of the "impact force" is transferred to the bolt vs the tool.

Deal. Thanks for asking in full sentences. We get a lot of people just shouting brands at us. How about craftsman mid torque, anything else?

Yes Mid torque works. Any hopes to see these tests for drills as well?

Today and tomorrow (2023-04-25 and 04-26) the R86211B is available on Direct Tools Factory Outlet factory blemished for $104 plus tax and their $15 flat shipping. Factory blemish means it is eligible for LSA.

I bought the high torque impact for car repairs thinking more power = GOOD no more 3 foot breaker bars but then I got a reality check bolts will break

Can you do the same test for 899, 2767 and R86211B at all the speed ( speed 1, speed 2 ) ? Its a must to know the torque curves at the lower levels so that we can use those tools more precisely!

Just scooped up one of these May 2022 from Home Depot on what I presume was the last bit of stock. $119 for the Octane High Torque, 4ah max output battery, charger, and a case. It was probably the best deal I'll ever get on a quality power tool.
@ridemfast76252 жыл бұрын
If you saw the deal on SD you can thank me for posting it:)) That was steal of a deal with the 4ah Max bat! TT Channel tested it with the 4ah Max bat and it loses a few percent in trq. The power was half in this vid with the standard 4ah bat because the standard bats do not have the extra two connections like the Octane and Max bats.

I love this channel I bought some crappy black and decker drill on Amazon and I had to put my body weight to drill screws into furniture. I will return it and purchase a ridgid drill

Can you please test the DeWalt DCF899 with a 21700 battery please. I'm going to need a couple of new batteries soon and want to know how the tool handles the power. #QuickTest ???

I second this! Would like to see if it’s worth the extra cost for the 21700’s or not

Great video guys. To be fair Milwaukee’s 6.0 HO has pretty much become the new normal and replaced the 5.0. No one is going out and buying XC 5.0s anymore unless they get them in a kit. And in one of your previous video’s you showed that the M18 6.0 HO puts out the most energy out of all batteries so throwing that on the M18 would result in a win over the Rigid would it not? Like I said great video, and I know the M18 high torque comes kitted with a 5.0 but that’s kinda using old technology vs new even though Milwaukee has it available. Keep the videos coming, I look forward to them every week.

6:50 is an HD12.0 battery
@derekbross69583 жыл бұрын
@@TorqueTestChannel Ya you bet, I saw. All I was getting at is that people will say well that’s not fair, Milwaukee needed a 12 amp pack to beat Rigid’s 3.0 pack but in all honesty Milwaukee’s 6.0 pack would do even better then the 12.0 pack. And I’m sure you know better then I do but does Milwaukee’s 3.0 HO do better then their XC 5.0? I’m just saying the XC 5.0 is outdated and lacks performance compared to all the new packs. Not disagreeing with anyone, love your videos.

Awesome. Do you have any plans to test the metabo hpt 36v. I like mine and I would like to see how it stacks up with the TTI offerings and it would be neat to see a run battery powered vs the ac adapter

Awesome as always and very helpful. I’ve been impressed with everything I’ve bought based on this channel. Any chance of seeing what one of those higher amp batteries would do on the Ridgid?
@TorqueTestChannel3 жыл бұрын
They are only 18650 cells, and being discontinued so we're going to wait for some new big batteries to do more testing, and some regular max output as well I think.

I think the best part of this tool is the fact that it comes with their lifetime service thing. Not even Milwaukee offers that
