Yes on the Thermo King step if you are pulling a flatbed, step deck, or RGN and you have a headache rack with all your storage its always nice to be able to use both sides of the truck. Its a great idea Tommy.

I can't stop looking at that truck... The Legendary blue is amazing. I've always liked blues in that family but that takes it to an entirely different level. I haven't looked at ordering specs for several years, so I'm a little out of the loop, but I was wondering what color options are there for the interior ? For some reason looking at that truck got me thinking about all of the different interior options that were available in the 70's, especially in the Kenworths. They had an interior package called Splendor that was narrow tuck and roll vinyl. It's been a few years but I think each pleat was approximately 1 - 1 1/4 inches wide and you could mix and match three different colors. They looked really cool. All of the manufacturers had solid color interiors that came in blue, green, brown, red, tan, black and probably some other colors I can't think of.

That truck is a thing of beauty. Very tastefully done. Usually when I look at a truck, it's easy to find at least several things that I would change, but on that truck there is only one thing I would change and that would be to get those gawd awful rear fenders off of it... No offense to the owner, and I know they are popular, although I will never figure out why, but I cringed the first time I saw those on a truck, and I still get the same feeling. But it's like anything, we all have different likes and dislikes, and it probably doesn't help that I'm getting old and crotchety 🙂

Here is the Beauty of it : Drop it down a inch and make a step box that goes over the unit that bolts between the unit and frame and is made out of the same deck plate material in the of step so the unit can breathe (still get air) Then on the back side the steps can either angle back toward the open space in front of tandems or for tight applications they could come straight down like the steps on a old school freightliner cab over but with that style you would need a grip handle on the back of your sleeper ?!?!?

It would be like a step pocket that the app unit would slide under into place but no weight would be applied to the unit- the weight would be supported by the frame when going up and down the step and could even be designed to match your side steps ?!?! It would like a box for your apu instead of your batteries but the steps come off the back instead of stepping out your door out( if that makes sense?!?!?

Or make it like the steps that go over fuel tank facing to the back of truck with a top step over the apu that bolts to frame where no weight is applied to apu… would have to be strong enough to withstand weight of person and tire blowout…

That bracket for the melon light on the mirror really bothers me... like... REALLY! ...Such a nice truck, everything painted, chromed and polished, hidden this and that... and then you have cables coming out to a light sitting on a bent piece of flat bar... come on!!!! Make a cast/milled two bolt knuckle/clamp base for it, where the wiring is hidden... all smooth like and matching the light. Would definitely dot the i. Make it look the part, as if it was meant to be there.
