Jen, I think you're awesome! After watching this video, you've truly inspired me to step up my meal-prepping to include fresh, healthy snacks. Thank you for that! Off-topic: Please tell me the name of the instrumental music (19:25) that's playing while you're scooping the muffin batter into the muffin cups. I absolutely love it!

Hi can I ask you how long you keep chicken raw or cooked in fridge? I cooked a turkey on Sunday and swear Wednesday night I had food poisoning but could have been a bug. (I won’t be eating turkey salad for a while!!)

You can use those chicken scraps you cut off for making broth, although they are good enough to eat. It's kind of wasteful to throw them away. I have a bag in the freezer that I toss chicken scraps/bones into and then pull it out when I have enough for broth. I do the same with veggie scraps, peels, in another bag and they get added to the broth pot for flavor. Everything gets strained at the end. VERY good meal prep video, thanks for sharing!
@Jen-Chapin6 жыл бұрын
Yeah I should do this more!
@trixierabel31706 жыл бұрын
Sunny, I do the same...after I am done, the bones are so soft and splinter free, that I can feed them to the dog. Fido gets a treat and there is NO waste whatsoever....or you can feed it to the chickens if you have them..since I am a city dweller, I don't.
@smitaacharya87996 жыл бұрын
I thought about that as well. It was anyway going in the soup.

Hi Jen! i truly admire your knife skills and prep organization. i use kitchen shears to remove excess fat from all chicken parts, eliminating such waste. May i suggest that you wash all your meats with salt on a couple of cut lemon halves? You don't know what your meat has been in contact with. Again, great job! Great video!!

I’m very happy to have found your channel. It’s great to see someone who knows how to use knives, safely. One thing that I’m disappointed in is the amount of “negative” comments and the comments about wastage. Everyone does things differently. I personally don’t use the fat and the stringy bits on chicken, I use them for stock and then give the chicken bits to my dogs. Some people use everything on chicken and that’s okay too. I only use crockery and not paper plates or bags but that’s my choice just like it’s your choice to do what you want in your own kitchen. My point being, this video is primarily about keto food prep. Can’t you just enjoy it for what it is and leave the nitpicking for something worth nitpicking over? Have a nice day. Thank You!

Another tip....Baking bacon in the oven is so convenient. 350, 15 min per side, or per as brown as you like. I can cook a whole package in 30 min-ish. I cover loosely with aluminum foil to help reduce splatter all over my oven.

i enjoyed this video but i have to say the same way u washed your veggies, you should wash your chicken ( you can sit it in a hot water bath of lemon juice and a cap full of vinegar for 10 mins and rinse off before cutting) eating right out of the pack is foreign to me. it was weird to see. But GREAT VIDEO!! very informative
@bethdjohnson15 жыл бұрын
Tyler Eiesha you are not suppose to sit raw meat in hot water. Especially chicken. The FDA actually says not to rinse chicken ( even though I usually do with cold water and then I immediately disinfect my sink/counter & cook chicken right away But you really shouldn’t be using hot water
@rezzyromain44345 жыл бұрын

Ok, here it goes. This is probably going to be one of the oddest comments that you have ever gotten but... I have severe anxiety & panic attacks. Maybe you already do this but if not I'd suggest that you freeze all of the meat trimmings and bones. When you have enough to make broth simmer them in water with herbs and vegetable trimmings (that you've also frozen) until the broth is ready. Strain it and either put the broth into the freezer for future use or use it immediately for another dish like soup.
