I use 9 foot 8wts and haven’t felt under gunned plus I can use the 8s for big streamer trout/bass fishing probably a bit more effectively than a 9wt. The 9wt however doesn’t really give you that much more leverage on the fish being the water is so skinny and snaggy, both will work though. Reel with a good drag a must. Good luck.
