Epic New Snowrunner Mod Map Coming - The Death Roads

While I wait for Expeditions to mature a bit I'm heading back to Snowrunner with an epic new adventure... We are going full death roads on this mod map. Let me know what you think of the look so far and what you want to see on the map in the future.

The whole map should be a fun mix with what I'm planning. The nicest roads are going to be along the cliffs

I'm definitely going to make this one a tough map plus it should have a ton of trailing with the mountain terrain. I'm Looking forward to this build

Finally found your channel. I had taken a long hiatus from SR. Came back about a month ago out of curiosity. Found this map in the mods section. Have been playing for hours last few weeks on it. Really great. Really fun. I'm about halfway done with recovering vehicles. My only complaint is that the map is a bit dark. And it seems there's hardly any sunlight. Definitely one of the harder maps I've played on. But I enjoy the challenge. It's great to test out OP truck mod builds. Also I've fallen off the cliffs too many times Ive lost count. Plenty of times where I've almost rage quit. But I keep on trucking. 👍🏻

Welcome! Awesome hearing you are enjoying the death roads map. That was a fun world build. I think I used the Tennessee sky settings on that one. I remember when building it all the hills made the shadows very annoying to work through. I will look into changing the sun direction. I know I can do it, just haven't tried it before. The trees are pretty tight too. Now that I write it I'm realizing most of the map is in shadows😂

@@remoh667mapping yeah I was going to mention that. When on the long cliff. There's a constant shadow on you as you drive. It can be 10am-2pm and a dark shadow follows.

Bro this is fantastic seeing your maps over the years and playing them has been amazing but this map and the ideas behind it are great. People like you are why individuals like me still boot up snowrunner all this time since release. Truly thank you. I'm beyond excited for this map and cant wait to invest countless hours playing with the occasional dive bomb off a mountain side. Great work bud.

Thanks. I really do appreciate that. I can't really explain it but I love coming up with ways to keep you all going and enjoying the adventures. It's alot of fun working everyone's ideas into the worlds too. Again, thanks for the great comment, it keeps me motivated knowing the players genuinely appreciate the work

@@remoh667mapping no problem bud, taking my time on "highway hauling 2" currently and once this map comes out it'll be instantly overwriting one of my saves. This is such a clever map idea that even leaving a few contracts that are "repeatable" by having deliver 50 long med and small logs to x would be exciting. Because, the actual challenge and difficulty of just navigating the death roads adds a ton more replayability vs any other type road because there's an actual risk of truly swan diving off the side of a mountain. I cant believe no one thought of this before.. I know you had a similar road on one of your other maps that was spring/winter and you followe that ridge line from the log station to lumber yard and doing that in a p16 was truly exhilarating whilst passing previous loggers whom tumbled down awaiting rescue. Now to have a full map of you slipp its RIP and be able to use big cranes to recover mess ups without feeling like it's a bit over kill, is awesome. Haha sorry for the ramble bud but I'm stoaked and im sure many other people are as well. Much love and good luck!

I'm definitely using the repeatable log mission idea. I'm probably going to put limited logs at multiple loading areas so you have to hea to different spots each time. I'm really trying to add a couple of tough sections on each road to make you pick which hazards you want to deal with on the route. I'm leaning towards making all the mountain tops have multiple small muddy trails that should give many options to complete the delivery. I'm really looking forward to getting this one out to you guys. It's definitely a perfect Snowrunner setting

It should be a good challenge. It's a perfect setting for Snowrunner. Just one of those projects I've had on the list for a while. Kind of excited to finally get it put together and put for everyone to have a go at.

I wasnt to sure what to build next. So many players have asked for a real death roads map. I figured it was time to give it a try. I can only imagine the carnage that will ensue.

Any spot you crash or flip you should turn into a recovery mission lol, I know that was a mod truck (at least i think) but some medium light recoverys are always nice.

I can on imagine how many unplanned recoveries will take place on this one. I will put lots of extra logs in the pickup areas!

You got me with this map! It's one-road expedition from start to finish with additional trails/shortcuts from time to time or normal, complex map like the ones from Saber?

There will be lots to do on this one. Vehicles recoveries, trailing and lots of cargo runs. If I do my job properly you'll drive over every trail at least once!

Awesome!!! Do the bridges swing, under load and/or wind? In the official maps/regions I miss the freedom to fix all the infrastructure shortcomings. E.g. North Carolina/Over (I think it is), there is the bridge destroyed next to the portal to/from Reactive Zone. One cannot fix that. It would be cool if all those things could be fixed. Maybe with a hefty price tag on them. ❤

I did use the bridges that flex a bit when driving over them. Plus they are pretty tight. There will be some pretty serious hairpins in some of the roads too. Should end up being a pretty good challenge

i dont know to what extend missions are possibe but could you make some missions were you can try to rescue other people traveling in the era? like they are stuck somewhere or damaged, out of fuel something like that just to fill the mission spectrum a little. looking forward to cruise through this map with the f750

Have you thought about a Map based in the Scottish Highlands? Snow, mud, rain, narrow roads.. not to mention Potholes

This one is coming together pretty quickly actually. The big towns and factories take the longest to build and this one is mostly nature

Just bought Expeditions buddy. I'm not sold at all on it! Do you think they have over complicated the game?. I'm not sure it's the 'next step' from Snowrunner. Thoughts? Keep up the good work!!
