That's gonna be amazing. I'd suggest between a 12mm and a 16mm because they are capable of the punishment from the friction of the water and innertoobs. Plus something slick on the start and curves. Like a ceramic water seal for cars. The sand will be hard on the plastic and you need all the help you can get. Hope you get the record.

After all, they are taking part in a "Guinness" World Record And participants acknowledging they have willingly achieved an "advanced state of refreshment" prior to riding should reduce the risk of legal action 👍 I have no legal qualifications but I love this channel And therefore I offer nonsense comments that might possibly have a crumb of validity 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Nice work Mr Digg looking forward to the next update 👍

You might consider doing a small version of the slide on the same angle, maybe 100' to test your idea. I am thinking the top part needs to be steeper to get started. Seems like fun.

Also Ryan being how you make retaining blocks I'd use those on the sides to hold plastic in grade the Force of water and human interaction of gravity is going to be more than just putting boards on the side to hold , also to keep pressure to a minimum consider half Way down the run add another pump off to the side for little extra propulsion to have you safety arrive at the destination that could be easily assembled with the use of your concrete blocks make you a specific block that you can add a pipe in mold in order to couple your hose straight to I would add it off to one side of the curve so when you are coming out of the curve it picks up Pace of the tube. Hopefully some of this makes sense but if you put to much pressure at the top I believe you will have a blowout in your plastic

My dad had greenhouses and we used 6mil polyethylene and I made one using the old stuff we took off and mine was about 100 feet long. By careful and remove as many rocks as possible. The more people than go down the more it will get packed down and anything that is underneath the plastic will poke through!!

This is awesome! I cant wait to see it. I think a second water outlet about half way would be a good idea. You could use pvc pipe to make it a water feature like a over head hoop that sprays water. Just a thought!

I think it's gonna be a great. One thing I would do is to create a water "good flow "down it. Some type of a large volume pump at the bottom and pump water to the top with a hose it prevent the friction.

well, when you create a low spot in the slide then water will collect in it and create a puddle while there will be no water flowing 'up and over the hump', cutting off water supply downstream. You would then have to install additional pumps and water supply lines to feed water down from the peak of those 'humps' to supply downstream again.

I’m thinking about my nitrile work gloves. There’s a big difference in durability between 6 an 10 mil. I’d go ten. Might go even heavier if you had a use for the plastic afterwords and can justify the thicker material. Have you researched slipnslide angles? I’d be curious if you have enough fall.

At least 10 mil plastic. Thicker is better in this case for sure. 100 feet of fall sounds like a lot but over 3000 feet, that's hardly anything - 1:30 slope. I hope it's enough!!! For perspective, a 1:4 slope is considered mowable and most of us that grew up on slip and slides probably had at least a 1:10 slope we used them on in the backyard - maybe even steeper...

Look at how a plastic mulch machine tucks the ends of plastic under the soil. Would be nice to have a way to secure the plastic without wood around the edges.

One time I went down a slide, I burned my hand and arm on the rim because it was hit an d dry. You have to keep it wet. Check out the old slip and slide set up. You are going to have a lot of injuries. It’s a bad idea.

My uncle used to make 100’ slip and slides out of 6 mil. It always seemed to work fine or at least last as long as the liquid encouragement. I bet 3000’ of plastic weighs a hell of a good bit. Good way to get beat caught in July slinging that stuff!!

Ryan I would think as far as the thickness of plastic goes thicker going to be better especially only using 1 pump for the water and with as much friction even with inner tube and weight of folks with those factors even though more expensive hate to see it rip half way through your day

I'm guessing 6mil would work being they will be on innertubes but 10mil would buy some buffer. I bet the cost difference is significant though. 6mil is readily available so maybe go grab some and an innertube and give a few tests. Awesome project. Looks like you have some good men working on it.
