TL and HHB are very similar. They literally look alike almost to the point where it's the same company. It could very well be the same company. I'm not sure. However ya this is the HHB Radius 10. They also made a Radius 40. Which has a VU meter. Hope it helps!
@bribriyaga3 жыл бұрын
@@sideast In my opinion it's a good bang for the buck preamp, like he says in the video. I don't think it's anything to brag home about, but its certainly not bad at all. You can find them from $300 to $500. I'd say honestly if you can find it to $300 or less than ya, it's maybe possibly worth picking it up if you really need extra pre-amps. As well as don't want to break the bank. I believe in a: "save for something that you really really want mentality". So I don't really like buying gear unless it's something I know i'll be in love with forever. That's why i'd personally pass on it. Just my two cents!

Hey Anthony - just so you know, the prime time has unbalanced 1/4" outs on the back that are stereo 100% wet! get some unbalanced 1/4" to balanced (whatever your patchbay is) cables made and youre rocking in stereo and it sounds AMAZING. This will bypass the entire mixer section, so everything to the right of the multiplier knob is no longer part of the signal chain. This is how Lanois sets his prime times up. I was lucky once years ago to work with one of his former assistants and he gave me the inside scoop. Cool spot you got btw!

Yes. Joe Meek had a number one hit with Telstar. He created loads of highly original recording techniques in his house before the days of technology, and it drove his landlady to constsntly complain about the noise. He ended up shooting her dead.

Perhaps I’m missing something, but how did they acquire the funding to build all of this so quickly? A guy who from his own description says that “this is all new to him” went from a single mic, two channel focusrite interface, and HS5’s to a hefty six figure studio over the course of the pandemic? Not trying to knock the guy, congrats to him for sure, but I’m just really curious about the speed that this all came together for them. Many studio owners will spend a decade or more slowly building and adding piece by piece, but they somehow managed to do it in a year. How? Regardless, great video as always, Andrew. cliff this is a reasonable question a lot of the time! the biggest one i saw was the warren huart tour of a studio in 2018 called big bad (i think) where theres a 25 year old dude there who has wild gear and he mentions how his parents "shipped him a boston grand piano for his bday or something" and it's like ok this is a different planet for you. i still hope allll of these folks make a successful studio and make great records obviously. for context and disclosure i had a top 5 single (usa france uk etc) that i 50% co-wrote that made a lot of money that i either had to buy gear with or pay tax on (basically ratio was 1:1) so i bought loads of gear but it's still nothing like what these guys have amassed so you do have to wonder a bit. our industry has a lot of wealthy kids, kids of known musicians and old timers who bought their Sta Levels in thrift shops all talking up the value of wild gear and at some level we have to be aware of the fact that for many people (myself included) gear is an investment that may be additionally useful if the values go up............
