While is a huge pain in the ass, painting the walls white helps a ton. It reflects the lights perfectly, while still not blinding you. It was a huge upgrade to my shop setup, just took a lot of time.
@dechlan34635 жыл бұрын
I agree, this really helps. I've seen a couple of people hire an electric spray gun and sprayed the walls of their shops/sheds. They just moved everything from the walls out into the middle, put some plastic over it all, and went to town spraying the walls. I understand Taylor and Ben may not be able to do this very easily due to all of the shelving, but the wall painting is a great idea.

I agree, i painted my shop a year ago. It took a weekend to do all the walls and roof but it was totally worth it! Just finnished putting white epoxy on the floor and its crazy to think that i have been working in that dark cave for 10+ years without all this brightness.

1) I didn't realize until now that the shop has skylights in the back half of the roof. 2) Why are you trying to move shops again? The shop you have now is perfect... all the additional storage space for parts, trailers, a pool for hot days, cool neighbor Ale, and of most importantly, Ben, with unlimited Miata steering racks lol

Curious, did you see what the consumption is on these shop lights?

Taylor dude just wanted to take time to say thanks. Ever since your video at your old house on the 4 foot lights I have put them all over my damn house since it was built in the 70s It has very few rooms with overhead lighting but is wired for lamps that are tied into switches. It has been LOL life changing. I found the 8 foot versions about a year and a half ago and I have put 16 of them in my two car garage as well . And every time that I am in Lowes or Home Depot and see someone struggling to find lighting options I direct them to your video and Amazon. Even for being as simple as they are they are freaking amazing LOL.

I have those lights in my shop, good lights but those clips are less than ideal for holding them up. Mine also had a connection for putting them end to end without the cord, that was terrible, they would lose connection as the temperature changed during the day. Best thing about them is that they make a nice even light, no dark spots or bright spots around the shop.

It will increase significantly if all 50 fixtures are used. Each of the 50 LED fixtures consumes 72 Watts of electricity, all 50 fixtures consume 3600 Watts (3.6 KW). The average residential electric utility rate in the greater Orlando, FL (Orange County) area and most of FL is approximately $0.12 per KiloWatt hour (KWh). Each fixture costs approximately $0.00864 per hour to operate. 25 fixtures cost approximately $0.216 per hour to operate. 50 fixtures cost approximately $0.432 per hour to operate.
