Compass and GPS, 30km from one shore to the other. So 60km total to go back to my car. I got one day of full whiteout with no visual reference.

C'était de toute beauté Jérémy , les images magnifiques et la musique envoûtante, j'en avait des frissons . Tu as pu profiter d'une glisse superbe d'après les images , ça avait l'air d'être une neige durcie par le vent . Par moment , on aurait dit que tu étais sur la banquise en Arctique . Là j'ai plein de questions tu sais , je vais te bombarder, prépare toi ! Tu n'as pas eu de " white out " ? Comment tu t'orientais dans ce désert blanc ? Est-ce que tu as traverser le lac au complet ou fait une boucle ? Quelle distance faisais tu par jour ? As tu eu des petites frayeurs de temps en temps quand la glace craquait , surtout la nuit ? Est ce que tu avais des points de repères pour avancer et avoir un objectif à atteindre à la fin de chaque journée ? Je vais arrêter là pour te laisser une chance de respirer et pouvoir répondre ;) merci infiniment pour la vidéo, ça pas dû être facile de filmer des images dans un désert blanc .

Merci ! pour le trajet, c'est une traversée aller-retour. J'ai eu un white out la 3ème journée ou j'ai du m'orienter à la boussole et GPS pendant 22Km, ce n'était pas de tout repos. La glace qui craque le jour on y fait pas vraiment attention en ski mais la nuit effectivement on l'entend vraiment vivre. Pas rassurant au début mais on s'y habitue ☺. Pour les points de repères, étant sur le Lac St-Jean, je suis parti du parc SEPAQ de la pointe Taillon vers Roberval et retour, l'aller (2 jours) était simple, bonne visibilité, il suffisait de viser le plus haut sommet en arrière de Roberval, le retour plus difficile avec le white-out jour 3, la technique est de prendre des repères (aspérité de la glace par exemple) à intervalle régulier en maintenant le bon cap. Jour 4 idem au début, puis les 5 derniers Km je voyais le toit rouge du bâtiment de la SEPAQ, Excellent repère ! pour info: Jour 1 :12km, jour 2: 19km, jour 3: 22km, jour 4: 9km

@@TheCanadianXplorerUne belle ballade en tout cas ! C'est toi qui a pensé à cet itinéraire ? Imagine faire ça sur un grand réservoir dans le nord comme le Manicouagan ou le lac Mistassini 😀 . Je pensais qu'en skis tu aurais parcouru de plus grandes distances journalières mais c'est vrai que tu avais une pulka qui devait avoir plus de friction que toi en skis . J'ai regarder 2 fois ta vidéo sur mon cell et une fois sur ma télé 48 pouces, je me tanne pas . Merci pour tes réponses détaillées et bien le bonsoir à Pauline

These from sail are very strong. They are normaly used for ice fisching tents.
