I... have not seen a protoss win a late game versus terran at the pro level. There needs to be something done. I think the major issue lies in the fact that EMP exists, especially versus high templar, which is protoss's only counter to viking clumps. Eventually most roads lead to tempests and carriers once liberators come out, though this game skipped the liberator phase and went straight to skytoss. However not much can be done as the toss player so long as the terran doesn't miss their emps (not very hard to do)

everything terran has is insanely good best/free scouting best base def best def units in general best splash (hellion/hellbat, thor AA, siege tanks, mines, libs AA, PF, ghost emp (if storm is splash then emp is too)) best mobility (stim, hellion and drops, bc teleport) best harass (name 1 terran unit that isnt good against probes) best health regen where does terran even lack? they dont even have to bring detection. they usually have more bases than even zerg by the 15 min mark. dirt cheap units counter expensive toss units nerf terran before toss players get sick and move to another game

@@LegionSC2 Exactly, MMM is crazy strong vs everything due to extremely high DPS. HT is supposed to counter, but they are slow and frail, and usually sniped by ghosts. If you do land half a storm, the units just get healed and then smash you. Often many armies die because observers constantly killed, yet Terran has essentially unlimited instant detection anywhere. A huge issue with Terran late game is the ability to strip mine bases with mules even after losing tons of SCVs. So it is a bit pointless attempting harrass because it doesn't really make a difference, and you usually end up losing more units than you can kill in SCV. I propose a global cooldown on mules, slightly slower marine firing, and increased siege time for liberators.

Fascinating how Skytoss goes from OP and unbeatable at lower ranks to almost useless at the highest level of SC 2.

Because the Protoss pros suck ass. Even herO can be godlike one moment and absolute ass the next. MaxPax is the only hope of Protoss, but he's relatively new (and already very strong) and doesn't play offline tournaments so he doesn't count towards the stats that matter.

@@N0noy1989 Has nothing to do with the pros 'sucking ass' it is well documented there are balance issues in late game PvT, it will likely be addressed through the balance council for a future patch. Terran is clearly advantaged in late game.

@@N0noy1989 Terran is extremely difficult to punish, yet for Protoss a slight mistake loses half your army. Also mules and flying orbitals allows Terran to hang in many games they have no business winning. Liberators make anything ground suicide, and vikings hold off any air threat. So Protoss is constantly whittled down, and inevitably succumbs.

That was an epic slug fight! In the end, they were fighting for every mineral and unit, but Bunny had that epic surround targeting the heavy hitters. And the base with the libs sinched it. What a match

Terran ultra late game techniques that I feel don't get used enough: - do not oversack SCVs, always keep about 30 - 10 orbitals is not enough, you want 15-20 - make production facilities at expansions (avoid SPOF) and vary the addons to have flexible mass production to react to tech switches - focus on mining gas with scv, the mules can give you minerals - hammer your opponent's undefended / untaken expansions with mules, later you will have reserves of minerals while they have less - mine from furthest forward bases first - make a couple BCs to yamato random stuff like vipers, prisms and disrupters, tactical jump when threatened - nuke two things at the same time - drop marauders / teleport BC in the main and target down pylons / zerg tech to stall production - speed banshee for hit and run on workers and pylons - harass overlords with viking - sensor towers everywhere - make double planetary setups at chokepoints against zerg

I actually would love to see a mind game, where the terran has 2 ghosts, one cloaked aiming the nuke, and the other uncloaked, standing further to the side. The protoss would attack the one ghost, thinking the nuke is gone, but surprise surprise, crouching tiger hidden dragon

Toss needs supplyless detection. T has scans and Z has overloads/overseer which need to biult for there supply, T only has observers which cost supply and take build time out of robo. Also why is the mothership not a detector. Would be cool to see nexus have a warp ability so it can move to different mineral fields. Feel like the devs never planned on T building shit tonne of orbitals at the end of the game

Terran is so heavily favored in this matchup it’s not even fair. To make matters worse, below the top 50 players in the world the Protoss deathball is so overpowered it almost makes balance impossible. Solution; disruptors should hit air units for half damage. Also: Ghost EMP should have a damage cap of 500 per single cast. These two minuscule changes would not impact the ladder very much but would have a profound impact on professional play.

@LegionSC2 Oracle openers are viable against Terran. Phoenix are viable against Terran. Late game Tempest to counter Libs are viable against Terran. Going mass Skytoss like a Gold leaguer in team games isn't viable against Terran 😂But it is still more viable than Mech is against Protoss. If you play this game at all it's clearly at a lower level than me. What's your go to build in PvT? Do you know what a build is? 😆

​@hivetech4903 yeah bro oracles are so viable against terran. Needing to 3 shot scvs instead of 2. So you need 3 units that cost 150/150 each for worker harass. What units will you have an home when terran marches across? Oracles are useless when ghosts pop and even more useless when vikings do as the revelation cast range is shorter than viking auto attack. Pheonix never get built after the 5-6 min mark and never exceed 5-6 units as they are useless against buildings, base defence and mines and even more useless against ghosts Void rays die to 3 marines. This unit is so garbage that it isn't even used in pvp anymore Tempests get hunted down by vikings and even libs in large numbers do well against tempests. Bc just teleports on top of them while the vikings chase Carrier lose vs anything that shoots up. Libs, Thors, vikings, marines, mines. Everything deals well with carriers If mech isnt viable against protoss why do we see it more often than skytoss against terran? Don't bs me with your terran bias. I find it quite biased that you refer maxpax to be the best toss in the world when he can't even play a tournament In person. Any professional can thrive online, it's the real tournaments that show true skill and until maxpax hits puberty he doesn't hold a finger to the skill level of hero. Until he starts experiencing actual struggles of a lan gamer he will never exceed the general skill level that hero provides to the game not to mention the travel and exhaustion he endures playing those tournaments all while little maxypad sleeps in mommy and daddy's house.
