One of the 7 Kings of the Golden Age. Rakim, KRS1, Kool G Rap, Big Daddy Kane, Slick Rick, LL cool J, Too Short. Now Nas had his own legendary flow like Rakim had, Nas had KRS 1's Knowledge of African History, and Political perspective. Just a whole lot of knowledge from him, Kool G Raps lyrical rhyming ability, Big Daddy Kane's metaphoric word play, Slick Rick's storytelling, LL Cool J's charm with the ladies, and Too Short pimping swagger on the track. That's why Nas is the best.

I think the 90's is when they took what they've learned from the first two era's of kings, and made the best music. Like Nas, Biggie, Snoop, Dre, N.W.A, Ice t, Ice Cube, Wutang, EPMD, RedMan, Geto Boys, A Tribe Called Quest, M.O.P, Cypess Hill, D.I.T.C, Jay Z, UGK, Hot Boys...ect..... Every artist was unique and lyrically advanced.

The first set of Kings I think is Grand Masta Cass, Kool Moe Dee, Curtis Blow, Melly Mel, Scoolly D, Run D MC, Public Enemy. That's my first 7. I like 7 better then 5, because 7 is God's number. They influenced what came after. LL Cool J could have been with the first 7, But I put him in the 7 kings of the golden era and Public Enemy reigned during the Golden era, but they was so influentially first in so many categories so I put them with the first set of kings.
