I searched it up cuz I didn’t know: Ciguatera fish poisoning (CFP), also known simply as ciguatera, is a foodborne illness caused by eating reef fish whose flesh is contaminated with certain toxins. Symptoms may include diarrhea, vomiting, numbness, itchiness, sensitivity to hot and cold, dizziness, and weakness.

Dont have to worry about Mu really. Never heard of anyone getting cig from them. Massive Uku, Kole, and obviously Roi can have cig, but even then I'll still eat Uku. Big Ulua can get it as well.

Taku, I say this all of the time, but DAMN! Those plating skills are on point! Im a firm believer that you eat with your eyes first. Presentation is key and you NAILED this one. Excellent job brother!

This is probably my favorite episode yet. I think you should permanently move to Hawaii, open your own sushi restaurant called "Catch and Serve," spend the weekdays fishing and then open on Sat-Sun, using your catches to figure out that weekend's menu.

@@TheJasonBoi just gotta be patient and maybe make a sacrifice to the voodoo gods lol my dad would always catch mu when he'd go fishing in Kona. He said those fuckers are smart and to always use a steel leader and strong hooks because they'll bite through that stuff otherwise
@djustin14 жыл бұрын
Life jacket would be better than nothing , you guys could’ve easily got swept off. Don’t underestimate waves even if it looks small before you know it your upside down lol. Be safe here in the 808 !

Joshua Shemeta life jacket bro! You get washed over you swim out and just float and wait for help. Much safer than treading water

Can't believe you hooked a Mu. You got it out of the water and I was immediately like wtf. Seriously rare to catch one with rod and reel. I've shot several but never seen one caught with tackle. Brah they eat crabs and lobsters too, so they are tasty. Mu and Uhu are bomb.
@b4uloveme4 жыл бұрын
That Mu didn’t expect people would risk their live to catch him on that cliff either.

No the guy is a DUMBASS for taking Taku out to that spot. It shouldve been a no-go, especially with all the obvious waves pounding the edge of the rocks. Spots like those are notorious for rouge waves that can easily clean objects off those ledges.

Greetings from Thornton Colorado! That is some crazy fishing. Sorta reminds me of rock fishing Monterey Bay California. Presentation was great. I loved the reference to “Dangerous Cliff Fishing” by use of stones on your platter with fish perched precariously atop the rocks. Alas the Emperor took a “flat nap.”

By far the best episode , i like both fishing and cooking cant get any better than this good job Taku.

We usually don't use swimbaits here in Hawai'i because just as you experienced swimbaits get mauled by schools of humuhumu aka truggerfish. They will take bites off the swimbaits so stealthfully that you never feel it. We do you smally curly-tail grubs in a technique called whipping. The retrieve is very fast so the humuhumu usually leave it alone.
