So, let me make sure I understand. There is a huge yard. Lots of space. More than enough for this project. But... You pick a spot in the yard with a....tree? Neat.

stump removal tip - put pruning saw blade into sawzall and cut the roots, roll stump out. tractors help a lot too.
@star-lord42084 жыл бұрын
One nice trick for getting rid of big stumps is to take a 50gal drum, cut the bottom off so it's just a tube, place it over the stump and light the stump on fire. You can feed the fire with the limbs and kill 2 birds with one stone. It's not the fastest way, and can take a couple days for the root systems to burn out completely, but after, the stump is gone like magic and you're just left with a hole in the ground. You can sit back and have a beer watching the fire.
@michaelpurdy1116 Жыл бұрын
Put a patio stone in the fire pit, makes cleaning up ashes way easier, and it gives a raised area in the fire pit, to start a fire, after a rain.
@KellyEUTAH4 жыл бұрын
My husband and I had a stump in our front yard that was bigger than that stump. It took us digging for two days, but we finally got to the base, and used a bottle jack to pull it out. No stump grinder, no fire. Just motivation.

a lot of work for a stump, best and easiest way is to get a 55 gal. drum cut the end out put it over the stump then burn wood inside for about 4 hours or so. It kills the stump and all the runners from the tree. use it on property all the time.
@147684 жыл бұрын
Cool project. I would improve it by pouring a round form footing and attaching your wood posts to the top of that. Wood in concrete will rot really fast and there is no easy way to replace it. For things like deck posts this is no longer allowed by code in most areas.
