Interesting thing you pointed out. In the musical the background vocals are meant to be diegetic. So in the songs the voices backing Odysseus are the other soldiers. The exception to this rule is the gods because they can just summon their own backing vocals.

His name is said like Hor-hay. Easy to mistake it for George if you haven't been around spanish names a lot.^

Ooo Thank you! I'm not familiar with Spanish at all and honestly thought it was a unique spelling of George 😂

The home progression is a really interesting addition :O I’ve never noticed it before but it adds so much more…depth? THE CAPTIONS FOR JUST A MAN ARE SO WRONG IT’S HILARIOUS 😭😭🤣 Props to your friend for not spoiling anything lol

Usually it's the other way around for Anime opening songs where I try to avoid spoiling. This time Ravenclaw is the one that knows more than me 😅 Also those wrong captions honestly made my day 😂

Oh btw Jorge said the more divine the character, the more electronic the instrumentation (lots of synths/electric instruments) which is a cool contrast between mortals and gods! Context for Trojan War: goddesses Aphrodite, Hera, Athena requested Paris to judge who was the most beautiful after some ~wedding drama~. Each goddess bribed him with something different, and Paris chose Aphrodite because she promised him the love of Helen - the most beautiful woman in the world. Helen was soooo beautiful and in demand, all her potential suitors at the time had to agree to sign a NATO contract stipulating they would uphold/defend the marriage of whoever ended up with her, since it would upset the political ecosystem if these powerful suitors continued to fight amongst themselves (Odysseus' idea btw, dude played himself). Thus Paris taking Helen away after she got married to Menelaus sparked an all-out war.

Oooo I haven’t heard anyone talk about the home progression in Horse and the Infant, that’s really fascinating and makes so much sense! And is exactly the kind of musical…. Wordplay? (What is the music version of wordplay) that Jay likes to do.

I've watched about a dozen reactors from different musical backgrounds go through this entire musical and none that I've seen pointed out the "going home" progression. This is so cool! I'm clearly in the right place 💛

You reacted to the old Gigi animatic, which seems to be a trend for new reactors sadly. Please watch the updated animatic for new vocals and extra animation, it has THatI + JAM in one video. Loved the reaction.

I was unaware of this myself, thanks for the info! (Also so unrelated but I find the acronyms for the songs so funny. Jam 😂. That song is very much a jam.)

@@shandytyes7080 look…I liked the number 40 alright… If I chose the THaTI+JaM animatic…it would’ve been 39 songs in the playlist and it really annoyed me

I thought him doing it from the top of the wall, besides what y'all were saying vs. the directness of a stab, was so the Trojans could witness him ostensibly killing their future. Not in a cruel way (I mean, heck yeah, that's awful), but in the ancient way of defining a total loss in conquest.

Odysseus very much did not hesitate in the original to kill the baby (Astynax). Different tellings vary if HE did it or ordered someone to but he has no moral issues with it and doesn't require being ordered by Zeus to do it.
