😀 A BIT ABOUT US:
We’re Marianne & Chris, a happily married couple from the UK. Marianne is a living kidney donor to her best friend, and realising that life was for living and never really knowing what’s round the corner - we decided to fulfil our dream of travelling full time.
So in March 2018 after the kids had left home, we sold our belongings, rented our house and moved into our campervan called Trudy. We set off to see the world and after vanlifing around Ireland and Europe, we grabbed our backpacks and spent 5 months exploring Central America.
Feeling like we needed a challenge, we planned the ultimate van life adventure! In Jan 2020 set off to drive around the World from UK to UK. But after arriving in Turkey, covid caught up with us and closed the borders, so we had a wonderful 18 months exploring this special country. Realising we were not going to be able to head further East, we decided to do a handbrake turn and go the other way and shipped our van to the USA.
We hope you enjoy coming with us, and we’ll continue to share our real adventures and hope you feel inspire to step out of your comfort zone and try something new.

Hello Ambassadors That is the reason why I am a Geologist. Really, how many of us do see those dinosaurs 🦕 foot tracks now? 165 my..Paleontologist who study them knows the differences between these dinosaurs. All those reddish and brownish colors are due to iron content in them. But, getting back into the video, I wouldn't have known that there is a TOWN population 10 called EMBLEM 🤩if it was not your video I watched. Little history, beginning of 1900 s and things left behind made the video highly interesting. Keep it up guys. Be safe. We all love you here💕💕💕🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷

Wyoming is always an adventure. It isn't cold as long as the sun is out. Once the sun goes down, it gets frigid! The wind also effects the feel of the temps. Always park into the wind and hang onto your van doors when you open them.

Its not that the roads in the USA are so rough it is more that there is so many miles to cover. Also when you were in San Antonio, you passed a few really good dinosaur tracks in the region. There is some in government canyon with very little walking required to see them.

During the 90s , my wife and I would drive from Oregon to Iowa very year to see her father. But we would take the interstate the whole way. Wyoming along the interstate is boring, not much to see. .My wife is a Moody Blues Fan, so we would listen to them all the way through Wyoming. There are beautiful parts of Wyoming, like the Grand Tetons and Yellowstone.

The Battle of the Little Bighorn, fought on June 25, 1876, near the Little Bighorn River in Montana Territory, pitted federal troops led by Lieutenant Colonel George Armstrong Custer (1839-76) against a band of Lakota Sioux and Cheyenne warriors. Tensions between the two groups had been rising since the discovery of gold on Native American lands. When a number of tribes missed a federal deadline to move to reservations, the U.S. Army, including Custer and his 7th Cavalry, was dispatched to confront them. Custer was unaware of the number of Indians fighting under the command of Sitting Bull

I was in my campervan in Gillette in Sept. I didn't have to stay at the Walmart as I have an old friend who lives there in the Summer so I parked up at her place. I loved seeing Cody and going to the Buffalo Bill Center. I went through Buffalo as I have a distant cousin buried there, Joe Lefors. If you've ever seen the movie Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid you'll know who he was. So enjoy seeing you two travel through Wyoming, it's like being back there again. Take care!

shared memory as far as Cody. I did enjoy the Chief Joseph Scenic byway despite its sad history. The hairpin turns and up and down, which you didn't mention, were hair raising in my RV but the vistas were glorious. Cody was cold and windy and quirky, I did visit the historic town, I then turned south towards Denver. Wondering if you will be travelling again where I have been, too. South west maybe? So I keep watching, lol. Safe travels, stay warm

My family visited Yellowstone some 12 years ago for the first time. We came in from the East through Billings Montana on I-94, then on to Cody and into Yellowstone. That part of the drive was expected as we'd researched it ahead of the trip. But our biggest and most pleasant surprise was on the trip back from Cody to the Black Hills. Just like you, we were not expecting any more mountains other than the Black Hills. You can imagine our surprise when we realized we'd be driving through the Big Horns, which turned out to be one of our favorite drives of the trip. We were so glad to have taken the road less traveled. I am looking forward to your Devils Tower experience and hopefully the Black Hills and Badlands, maybe? 🤷‍♀️

In the Emblem post office to the left of the rent-a-box there was a slot that said to 'Deposit Mail Here'. This is common in all small town post offices. You can give it to the person behind the desk if it's open but they are usually limited hours and will close window if it's lunch time.

Buffalo Bill Cody will go down in American History with both pros and cons. He is remembered most for his "Wild West" show that included Annie Oakley the sharpshooter and Sitting Bull the famous Native American. However, his con is most definitely contributing to the almost extinction of the American Bison. By the end of the 1800's I believe there were less than a 1000 Bison left living in North America. Westward expansion and conflicts with the Native American tribes and the knowledge that Bison were their primary food supply for the Native American tribal peoples. Settlers began destroying herds of Bison to starve the Native tribal people out of areas that were desired for settlement by pioneers, as well as gold discovery in California, Colorado and South Dakota. America came very close to losing the American Bison forever. Stay safe.

Watched "Annie get Your Gun" recently.... wasn't Buffalo Bill associated with Annie Oakley? In the movie Annie Oakely goes on a European tour and performs for Queen Victoria; Buffalo Bill is part of the entourage.. may be this was at that time?.. or was this just artistic license for the sake of the film. Any of our American cousins know more about this?

Local lore is that the Devils Tower was just a rock, a group of girls were out playing and were chased by bears, they climbed up on the rock, which grew up into the sky to protect the girls, the strata of the rock was formed by the bears claws as they tried to climb it. The girls can still be seen - as the Pleiades (also known as the seven sisters). Mythology aside, it is a fine example of how native culture regards nature and landscape as something positive, while westerners are all too happy to attach negative or threatening names to things. Natives attributing the formation to divine intervention of the creator, westerners associating it with the devil. Unfortunately that is a mind set that often led to similar assumptions about the people - not just in North America, but around the globe. I hope you get to stop at the Badlands in South Dakota!
