WTA rankings don't always determine results, remember USO 2021 ?? If they did then surely the WTA 150 'qualifier' should never have beaten much higher ranked players without dropping a set. That was EPIC !!

In this competition, GB are ranked 12. So all the other teams that made it to the finals were ranked above them. Making the semi finals is an achievement worth celebrating. Also given the strength of the doubles players in most other teams, GB's two singles players face a bigger pressure as both games probably need to be won to progress.
