I'm glad you are liking carnivore. I think having stricter guidelines for your way of eating is good for you and makes you less tempted to go off plan. If it's not meat, can't have it! No problem! You can eat meat anywhere, too. You also aren't restricted in how much to eat so you can eat as much as you'd like. I think it's what you need right now.

This looks so much like my daily meal plan, although I do like to have bacon with my eggies for breakfast, and I like to have my shrimp on the side for dinner. I alternate chicken, sausage and whatever beef is on special for dinner, with those shrimpies as a side. I like to make beef fat trimming bites too and sometimes that's all I need for lunch most days now! Butter sauce as a dip too, so much cheaper than ghee, but you can make your own ghee from that butter too to cut down costs and add some variety.

Major kudos for changing gears and sticking with it! As you may remember from my pervious comments, I follow CICO but I do also believe fasting, carnivore / keto and hormonal impacts are all very relative. I have not, am not and will not attempt to sway you on your CICO opinion but I did want to offer some counter points to the comment you made at the end of the video about people not knowing what a calorie was hundreds of years ago. While it's very true they probably had no concept of it, pretty much every living person had a struggle to keep themselves fed. There was no 7-11 down the block to grab a 2 liter of grape faygo and a meatball hoagie at midnight. They usually went days without significant meals, picking at the little bit of food they could forage until they could kill something. And because they had no way of preserving it, they also had to eat it all pretty much right away. The availability of quality food sources wasn't a thing for the average person until about the 50's. Then in the 80's we started to see the uptick of the "convenience" society. I call what we are in now the "entitlement" society. 24 hour stores, diners, fast food shops.... etc. All that is to say, calories weren't that important pre 1950 (especially pre 1900s) because there just wasn't enough food to make overeating a problem for the most part. Another interesting study would be to study the eating habits of a few thousand different "healthy weight" people. Their food choices. Meal frequency. Etc. I find most often, most healthy weight / skinny people I know eat pretty much whatever. But they do not over eat. Some eat 3 meals a day. Some just one big one. Some eat a lot of junk. Some don't eat any. I am happy that carnivore is something sustainable for you. If it helps you remove the temptation and hunger pangs, and your good with it, that's fantastic. That should allow you to reach your goals. I know personally CICO is the key for me. I'm going to do a very in depth analysis of the past 12 months of eating once I hit the 12 month mark. Thankfully I did track 90% of my days in the lose it app, so I have an accurate break down. I'd say on average I'm probably eating about 80-90g of carbs every day. Having said that, it's often whole, raw, unrefined carb sources. Think sweet potatoes and not pop tarts. But I still eat the occasional "junk" carbs. Probably 4-6 servings a week. Doritos. Ice cream. Other types of chips and pretzels. Chocolate. I personally do not mind the trade offs between CICO / tracking and being able to pretty much have most anything (in moderation) in my diet versus going carnivore. Though I understand, everyone is different. Some people just can't curb the cravings related to the carbs. It's not easy for me either. And if I wouldn't be able to keep it in check, I know I wouldn't eat them either. The guiding thing for me here, above all, is food quality selection. I'm eating in a very "paleo" way. Field/Farm to table as much as possible. Not strict 100%. But the vast vast majority fits that bill. I start my eating each day with a large, fresh salad and 4-6 oz of lean proteins. Dinner is a lean protein and veggies. Snacks are things like fruit, veggies, cottage cheese, yogurts (unprocessed greek... etc). I eat a lot of eggs. Occasional bacon. Sausages. Things like that. Best of luck!

@@brandonkick your diet definitely sounds healthy and if cico is what you need to help stay on track, I think that's a good strategy!

The power of protein!!!! Keeps you satiated much longer than fats or carbs. You’re probably finally eating the proper amount of protein for someone your weight. It’s good for building muscle AND losing weight.

For my 120 lb weight loss I did not count :) yes we can under eat on this but I think that is a OH I am hungry I am going to lose more if I do not eat even when hungry :) like the over-eating its more like OH I am just going to eat this bag of pork rinds and bock of cheese and eating to graze Glad to hear your satiety is working as it should Yeah at some point some might need to track if it things stop working stalling or one loves to be a tracking nerd :) but good on ya glad its working for ya so far but I think also those folks are more rare than the norm which is OK :)

I can't think of a better motivator to completely quit a diet and than to attempt calorie counting. It does nothing but make me obsess over food in a way that I think is unhealthy. With carnivore/ketovore, I just eat until I'm comfortably full. To lose weight, I'm simply doing OMAD + a 50g protein shake in the morning before working out.

@@kaizer-777 I agree, I think your way or eating should be one that can last a lifetime, calorie counting isn't it for me.

Glad your finding something thats working for you. If this helps you to eat intuitively and your not struggling with cravings and losing weight then calorie counting is not necessary. I only recommended it if your scale is stuck, and you dont know why. Its only a tool to help you figure out how many calories are in the portions you are accustomed to so you can tweak it and know a good estimate for what you are eating in the future. Its not supposed to be a forever thing. Keep on, keeping on and I'll be ready on Friday to congratulate you on a job well done.
