I watched my older brother die of uncontrolled insuline resistance which allowed his blood glucose reach as high as 600 mg/dl. His diagnosis was lung cancer. The treatment by his doctors was a catastrophic failure. His suffering led him to take his own life through the death with dignity program in WA. This experience caused me to seriously look at my own health which I found wanting. I was 80 pounds over weight and was diabetic although I had not been diagnosed as such as I have no health insurance. My glucose reading was 163mg/dl. In desperation I searched for a way to get off the road my brother traveled and I found Dr. Berry's video on BBBE and decided I could try that for 3 months. I was astounded in the improvement in my health in that short of time. After which I had no problem emptying my cupboards of all the "food" that were destroying my health. I still feel guilty about giving a lot of that to the food bank as it would have been better to just throw it out. I have been carnivore for 4years now and am able to walk 2 to 5 miles a day. I will be 72 this August and at weight as much as I did in high school, 105 lbs, and feel healthier than I have in decades. Thank you, Dr. Berry for saving me from the same fate as my brother and so many of my other relatives as well.

A man came up to me a while back and said he wanted to thank me. I had no idea who he was till he said that a year ago, in Walmart ( both of us customers) that I told him some health bars was like eating a candy bar, and showed him all the good food that he could take in his 18 wheeler.... boiled eggs, meat sticks, cheese et cetera..... he'd had lost 100 pounds in that year ❤

That must have been a beautiful feeling for you ... somebody listened! My son has jumped in carnivore wagon and I'm nervous and I'm crossing my fingers and toes. When he succeeds maybe his sister will try carnivore too. Both are coming to their 30's and that stored energy is starting to show around their waist.

I was thinking the same thing! I am currently reading Dr. Cate Shannahans book Dark Calories. I’ve followed her for years and have seen a steep decline in the health of younger people from year to year. I am 43, the oldest of six, and my youngest sister is 20. Two of my younger siblings, one that is 7 years younger than me, and one that is 15 years younger than me, are on medications for chronic disease (I am on none). The seed oils really became rampant in the mid to late 80’s and Dr. Cate talks about people born around the start of the 90s are worse off health-wise. I’m also a registered nurse with many years of experience both inpatient and out as well as adult and pediatric populations and I see it.

Im so sad for the loss of my mom before I learned these things. She hurt herself dieting and in the end she died with her arteries totally blocked right to her pulmonary artery that killed her. My dad had the same issues and just turned 87. My little sis has all of those issues as well. When we were children we ate ALOT of Blue Bonnet and Crisco. I am 63 just going full on carnivore. This time it has been a month. My brain has been affected negatively. I had a stroke in 2013. That sme night i suddenly lost my hearing and balance along with listening to a ROAR in that ear that I've been listening to 24/7 since that night. I bought your book Lies my doctor told me. I have tryed Atkins without a clue in the 80's. Other diets and gimmicks. I am thrilled to loose the inflammation. My thinking and physical strength have returned after just a month. I have never been seriously overweight but have creeped up after menopause. I was diagnose with fatty liver like so many others. I am very excited to reach my goals on so many levels that i am gaining the psychological strenth to stick. I turned down Steak Fries when my daughter and I stopped after work. NEVER EVER have I turned down Steak fries! I told her if I ate them that i would be craving a BIG donut with frosting and creamy filling..Absolutely not going there again. THANK you For all you DO!!

Apparently this diet is good for sick and unhealthy people. I’m in my late 70’s don’t have cardio vascular disease or anything else. Why would I change my diet? I eat a balanced diet. Some meat , lots of vegetables and some fruit and some complex carbohydrates. I think you overweight and ill folks are looking for that Hail Mary magic. I wish you good health and luck.

This was so good to hear so many myths in one place. Thank you Zoe Harcombe and Dr Berry for your brains and the want to help others. I’m 16 months carnivore at 65 & hubby 72 feeling great!!! No turning back. Don’t miss any food. ZERO cravings for anything!! I was the one cutting all fat off meat and skin off chicken and rinsing ground beef. Yes you read that right. It did take me a couple weeks to eat all the fat but now I want it. Plus have so much butter each day which I used to use ever so sparingly. This would have saved my hubby from stroke and bypass if I had know this stuff years ago. Hey better late than never. I see people in their 80’s doing this now in the comments. I commend them for being open minded.

Being a colorectal cancer survivor and having diverticulosis, my prayer is that the GI Healthcare professionals get on board and hopefully people will not suffer needlessly with their GI conditions as I did for 10 years before I found carnivore. And for those who want to have their fruits and vegetables, there are those that they can have if they want, but it's pretty limited on those that are not inflammatory or irritating and should not be eating for the sake of getting fiber! I just am moderately active, drink adequate water and eat enough animal fat and have no problems with diarrhea, constipation or have had a diverticulitis episode! I do hear a lot of people talking about Stress Management with IBS and Crohn's and yes how we manage stress does affect our GI tract but how we eat affects our Mental Health and I don't think people realize that yet. Hopefully this is helpful to someone.😊

Thank you so much to both of you esp a British PHD woman who has brought this wonderful truth that blows away all the rubbish that we've been 'fed' over the decades. I was one of those fat children who became a sugar addict early on in life and carried the stigma through my life, through countless useless diets and exercise, until now. I even took up smoking to try to stop my addiction to sugar. Thankfully, I never really enjoyed it and could give it up when I was pregnant with my first child. I thank God for finally learning the truth about nutrition. Why oh why did I have to struggle until 72 yrs of age. I am already passing on the goodness of this way of eating. Only 60 days into the regime, and I've lost weight, 10 inches off my waist, and really enjoying eating again, instead of feeling guilty. Thank you again so much. This has changed my life.

Thank you Zoe.🙏 Thank you for this brilliant podcast. Saving and sharing this when someone wants to argue veganism is healthy or we need carbs! Zoe, if you're doing any talks in the UK in Aug, I'll move mountains to attend. I'm a Brit🇬🇧 who moved to SE Asia 18 years ago. Been fascinated with obesity & health for 15+ yes now. It was a 'fat' survey on a European road trip with my 🇨🇷 husband that started it. The French were the slimmest...hmmnnn. That can't be right, surely? They have such an 'unhealthy' diet! Enter the French Paradox 😉. Roll forward 18 years, the obesity levels in Thailand have exploded exponetially for all the reasons you guys keep educating people on. You've got an advocate to spread your word in SE Asia, but I'm simply a mere layman with an obsession about learning the truth and exposing the 🐂💩 we're fed from the media. Don't be a 🐑

We all tend to be proud & stubborn in our beliefs (particularly the Big Three: religion, politics & diet). The only thing I can do is show by quiet example. Debate rarely has an effect. They see me lean & mean, clear & energized and healthy. If I feel the vibe, I'll bring out my medical panels and show the results. Your example will speak for itself.

You could define diabetes as an allergy to carbohydrates. You would never recommend to person with a peanut or dairy allergy to eat a "balanced" diet by including those food they're allergic to! Carbs are not NECESSARY FOR LIFE ("essential"). "You're including poison in your balanced diet. How is that helpful?"

I was chatting with a friend a while back about poor health, to which he regurgitated his Doc's excuse words " I have family history". Yeah? Well you do know what family history is right? Him, huh? Your family history is, y'all all sat at the same table eating the same food. For years. The silence from his end of the phone was deafening. If people all over the world could reclaim control of their hijacked brains, the Renaissance in just about every field would be mine blowing.

I graduated from junior high in 1960. I have a photo of the graduating class taken with a panoramic camera. There were over 200 kids. No one was obese. And a couple of kids were pudgy. What a difference nowadays when I drive by a school! It it very sad what we have done to the last couple generations with the dietary guidelines, seed oils, low fat, etc.

My diabetic dad was given starchy powdered soup, juice and sweet jelly post op in one of Sydney's main hospitals. When I took it up with the nutritionist, she was apologetic once she realised I knew what I was talking about, but the decisions where made "above" and it was only for a couple of days while he was on "no solids". Food was almost as inappropriate "on solids".

My son had a surgery of appendicitis and slept in our local hospital for two nights. Every morning they gave him white bread , jam , chocolate power ( mostly sugar) and Nutella ( sugar with seed oil ) there was one tiny piece of cheese which was the only real food. We are in Switzerland by the way

Sorry to hear that. My husband was in hospital (Australia) from 4 week Is with shingles. He was keto before but discharged on 6 meals/day. Biscuits, oats, juice, puddings, bread, low fat everything, yogurt etc. He chooses not to go back. I am sooooooo disappointed. Setting himself up for horrible death. Hospital food is worse than anything else.

The little fat kid in my kindergarten was my friend. He got that way because his uncle owned the hamburger place down the street from our school, so my friend went there every afternoon to eat a cheeseburger, fries, and a milkshake. His sister was also the biggest gal in her class. I just heard last year that both of them passed away from heart disease before age fifty. This crap diet in America is no joke.

Can't help but think that electronics play a part in this too. Sitting in front of a screen playing games all day does not help build any physical well being whatsoever. Especially in kids playing video games drinking soda and eating junk

No. It's the food, bro. It's not like young people are shackled to computers. They're not. It's the food. Closer look shows obesity for humans across all age groups including working adults and retirees. It's the fucking food. Cut out all the junk and people feel better. Demonizing gamers and young people is fucking jive.

Yes, unfortunately, it's not as easy as telling people about this. No one is going to take my word over that of their own doctor/cardiologist. My own brother who suffered a heart attack before he was 60 years old and now suffers from horrible lesions on his leg as a result of a subsequent thrombosis, told me he was not prepared to risk his life by going against what his cardiologist told him to do. Well, I'm sure his cardiologist has no qualms about risking someone else's life. It's so frustrating listening to him rattling off what measures he's taking to lower his cholesterol levels to please his cardiologist.

I grew up in the 50s and 60 in Canada, it was in the 50s when margarine was introduced, it was cheaper and they said healthier. At this time whole milk was demonized and we ending up drinking 2%, yuck. My mom started baking with crisco instead of lard, etc etc,

Four things that I didn’t fully realize or know: saturated fat to mono saturated fat ratio is less than 1 for all meats, but above 1 for cheese; fiber is sugar; soluble fiber just means that the fiber can swell in water, not dissolve in water (oats vs bran); and GLP-1 antagonist keeps food in your gut up to a week. Lots more great info. Great presentation.

Last 3 years of pure lion diet: hdl 88 total cholesterol 210 triglycerides 90. With a gluten free diet ( celiac disease) hdl 55 total cholesterol 240 triglycerides 210. Undiagnosed celiac disease with a normal diet: hdl 42, cholesterol 180, triglycerides 140. I base my last hdl levels due to my neurological disease which has improved and also my hypothyroidism is gone just through diet. Mussel, sardines,Sea bass, lamb, beef, beef liver and heart, eggs (even I struggle with them sometimes), tuna, beef tallow, crude olive oil. With the last blood test also homocysteine decreased from 30 to 7 and even my folate ( celiac disease patient struggle with it) wemt from 0,7 to 8 ( beef liver). Also vitamin d3 went from 7 ( unvaxed and with this level I never took the so call virus), and now is at 50. My weight is perfect, my chronic pain and Gluten Ataxia/Ms is on remission. I did try to reintroduce butter/ buffalo mozzarella but lasctose and celiac go hands by hands. Omega 3 helped me to decrease Tsh from 9 to 1 without meds.
