Nice job there Robbie!! Those some good yabbies. Funny thing with myself is I’ve decided to get a boat and stop using the kayak because of i just wanna have some room to move (12ft, good to punt around) and what I said to myself, I wanna start fly fishing but most likely fish lakes (don’t see myself fishing rivers because of trees🤣) where they’re located. I’m super basic but with flies: is it (based on how they’re feeding) drys surface, emerger in the middle and nymph on the bottom? That’s gonna be a later thing but come Sunday, cod fish depending on where
@robbiefishingАй бұрын
Thanks mate. Good luck on the weekend. If I ever decided to buy another boat it would be a small tinny. I'm not interested in owning a big fancy boat. Just a small boat for small lakes and rivers.
@anthonybusiello9948Ай бұрын
@ if you ever consider a small tinny, i definitely recommend something at least min 10hp (if you’re gonna consider lake fishing) because if you’re out on the water and the weather turns to super windy and you have to get out asap, a 10hp will do the job.

Having a bit of sympathy for people who have injuries and ailments isn't exactly something people should be shy about showing. I've got some, plenty of people I know have some and we just help out our haggard fellow humans as we can. Yeah the freshwater mussels are quite an interesting and not well studied branch of animals, also quite uncommon now to see which is a combination of factors but barely anyone knows they exist. When I was a kid back in the caveman days they used to be common in clean rivers, great bait for native fish, yabbies and not bad eating if you leave them in clear fresh water overnight and boil them up. Also used to get quite big were I was, some would be 15-20cm long shells as thick as your fist, quite an important part of the ecosystem with their filter feeding
