This song and KOH, part 3 were played back to back in the Omega Alive show. Two of the most epic songs you will ever hear.

The more I dig into this band's discography, the more I love them. They have a sound that just works. Crazy good with their instruments and vocals, song writing/composition, lyrics. And by all accounts it sounds like they're decent people, which is always a plus. They're just at an elite level in their profession. And, I could listen to Simone sing all day long - what a siren! Be good! 😊 ✌🤘

Instant 👍 !!!! This song is one of my most listened Epica songs !!! So, abaut this song : The song is about trying to find common ground between science and spirituality, I think they are basically advancing a scientific approach to spiritual experiences. For instance it's a fact that people do have near death experiences, like the song touches upon. So we should study that with an open mind and see what there is to learn. They are also criticizing the purely materialistic view SOME scientists hold(certainly not all), as the purely materialistic view doesn't and can't explain things like near death experiences. If people were awakened or awakening and diving into ancient esoteric knowledge , Epica would be the number one band in the world. For people like me who study ancient knowledge, it’s high vibrational music with keys to wisdom. They talk about things that only those who know, understand. Plus her voice is incomparable , their music is elaborate and just gorgeous. The majority of the world is just not ready for them .

Yes I have resigned to the fact that Epica will never be a hugely popular band. They just vibrate on a different frequency than most of the population. This song in particular put words to many things I also think are important and relevant, when I heard it I fell heads over heels for Epica.

Ooooooooooommmmmmmmmm….. Rrrrrrrraaaaaaaamaaaaayaaaaaaaanaaaaaaaaaaa…. I just opened a third eye, holy schnapps!👁👀 This is the perfect moment to take a trip down the memory lane, back to those times when Floor and Smoon were living in a Summervilla and studying quantum physics, Tibetan mythology & Mayan culture at a bar in Tilburg. Speaking of Mayan - I’m sure Marcela Bovio was involved in the whole thing somehow. How exactly, is still a mystery yet to be solved. With enough schnapps and enough “roommates & vocal coach” kinda comments (to start believing all of this actually happened) I might be able to unveil the whole story...🙃 How’s THAT for awakening?😁

You're right, keyboardist Coen Janssen doesn't sit still much. If he's not playing, he is usually running around. lol. You said a song is good when a 10 minute song doesn't feel like 10 minutes, well it must be really good because it's a 13 1/2 minute song that didn't even feel like 10 minutes. 🤣😁. This performance is from the 2021 Omega Alive virtual concert, filmed over 5 days and streamed online all at once, and since released on DVD. First time they got to play songs from the new, at the time, 8th album Omega, done when they couldn't tour due to restrictions. An intro and 14 full songs, part 1 and part 3 were played back to back, 27 minutes of awesome. Might as well just continue the show when you come back to EPICA. The 3 parts are on different albums, this is from the 4th album ,Design Your Universe. ( part 2 doesn't get played much, the lyric video is probably best if you want to hear that). The full song title is Kingdom of Heaven (A New Age Dawns Part V), you've heard 2 other parts of A.N.A.D., part VI is Design Your Universe, Part III is Consign To Oblivion. (3 parts on the 2nd album, 3 parts on the 4th album).

Personally, there are 2 reasons why I do not recommend Kingdom of Heaven part 2 to be the next one: There is no official live video, as far as I know, and I would not say that part 2 is not good but I personally prefer part 1 and 3. But if you still want to check it, you can react to the studio version.

Pt2 is definitely the weakest. Pt 1 and 3 both have 3 distinct parts/movements , each one bringing new musical ideas to the composition. Pt 2 on the other hand has a first movement, a very small bridge with no new musical ideas (just some choirs and guitar lines), and a second movement with the same ideas/melodies of the first movement. So it is basically really underdeveloped. While Pts 1 and 3 sound like proper epics (like small concertos so to speak) , pt2 sounds like a typical proggy epica song. It has similar structure with Sense without sanity.

They really are the masters of merging harsh and clean vocals with irresistible marching riffs. You really can't mistake this band for anyone else. It truly can't be a coincidence that the paths of singers, producers etc. of EPICA and Nightwish have crossed paths quite a few times, the excellence can be heard everywhere. Absolute masters of their craft, yet so different. Recommendation: Victims of Contingency official Video, this song is insane as well. (and Storm the sorrow official video for one of the simplest but coolest videos I have seen in Metal)

First metal band after 1990 I heard was Nighwish with Floor 4.7 years ago, checking out a rapper's reaction to Ghost Love Score. Wacken 2013 is my go to concert since then. Could never get into Epica and others after delving into some other metal reactions since then. None of the lead singers and songs make my jaw drop like Floor did. One thing I like about Simone, she never went the tattoo route. Good for her.

Tattoos are god awful. Let’s blame everything on that Swedish drummah boi who seduced our Goddess!😠 One of my most favourite songs has nothing to do with NW or Floor, incidentally. It’s “Mirror of Sorrow” by Solitude Aeturnus. Floor's first band (After Forever) has somewhat similar vibe to them. Epica, strangely enough, doesn't despite being an offshoot of AF.
