Cold & snowy in Canada. WOW!! I love to see Lando run like the wind. In past years, my late husband & I had a springer spaniel that ran like his life depended on it. Once, in an open field, he spied a rabbit. He was behind us and started to chase the rabbit. We could hear the ground pounding as speed and determination infused the rabbit and our springer both into the woods which ended the chase. I do not know what happened to the rabbit but our spaniel was a happy boy as he emerged from the thicket. Hunting dogs are awesome.

So nice that Caroline &Matt were able to join you all for the weekend. It’s great to see them but hard to see them leave no matter how happy you are for them. As a mom of two girls, I’ve had to deal with that so many times, from those days away at University, to the days they chose to move to that area, then to them getting married/ joining a spouse and moving away. One in BC, with our grandson, and one planning to move to New Zealand. I dread the goodbyes, and the loss of seeing them regularly. We teach them to grow up and become independent, and then we have to let them go and say goodbye. 😢 My son is older, but also lives his life independently from us so we have to manage on our own let them make their own lives. Proud of them, happy for them but missing them…… Life goes on!❤ God Bless you all as you live your lives on the island and continue your travels. We really love watching your show and seeing so many places since we don’t travel. Oh and we sure understand the health care here in Ontario, and lack of doctors. As said, it is totally unacceptable!!! There aren’t even any walk in clinics in our area of Ontario near Owen Sound, and we are in our 70’s!❤

Watching from New Orleans here after getting 10 inches of snow….🥶and it stayed for three days which has never happened here. It shut everything down but became a wonderful opportunity for people to come outside and play. Enjoying watching y’all enjoy it but happy to have our 60F back. Go Landau!

I have a suggestion; permanently place a reasonably sized pipe into the lake water that doesn’t freeze. Have a second solid pipe pushing water down to the non freezing part, so that there isn’t any water that is solid above the freeze point. When you want water, remove the blocking pipe and drop a hose down which is attached to an electric pump that you could run using a portable power bank. I’m not an engineer but the idea came to me while watching you struggling to fill the white plastic drums. Cheers.

Very true we hardly get snow in the south. Especially where we live. We did get snow this year. I went outside, made three snow balls, left them on the trampoline and went back inside the house. I was done with the snow. 😂

We’re sending you back the weather! It got down to 9°F here in Virginia. We’re definitely not used to that but thank God I have the appropriate coach like you guys have that take me down to I think it’s -10°. I bought them when I lived in DC and had four dogs. I had to walk so they kept me warm there! So yes we’re sending it back on today. It’s 40°F here and next week I understand it’s gonna be warmer! As I get older, I definitely don’t handle the cold very well. We have to worry about our pipes raising here so I let the pipe strip all night to keep them from freezing.

Hey there my name is charissa pronounced Carissa from Pensacola Florida. I don't know if y'all read these, but I wanna share a blessing with y'all, last Tues on the 21st of January we got snow. My neighborhood got 10 inches while the average here in Pensacola that day was 7.5. we don't get snow here, I asked God I would like to see snow one more time in my life, and boy did he deliver. U are right sir to enjoy every moment in life, whether it's winter or summer or whatever season, we are only allotted so many seasons in life. Enjoy each to the best of your ability. Like I said we never get snow. This is the most snow we have ever received in Pensacola Florida. God has the very best heart, he knows what you need and what u want, he may not always give u what you want, but he will always give you what u need, I think he also has a great sense of humor because apparently we are in for more snow this weekend. Hahahahaha, ain't God great, won't he do it. Anyways God bless you and your family we love watching y'all. Peace be in your hearts always

Dave here, when I was a kid in the late 60's and early 70's, dad had a spoon style auger and it took a long long time to cut through a foot of ice! Always had a file on hand to put a quick sharpen on the edge!!

Hello from International Falls, Minnesota. The "Icebox of the Nation". I really enjoy your videos. I do alot of the same kind of trout fishing and lake riding as you do over there. A cold weather sled starting tip: with the key off, pull the pull start rope 5-10 times before you try to actually start the machine. It loosens up the stiff oil in the engine and gives your battery a helping hand. Of course 2 stroke engines don't have crankcase oil like 4 strokes but they do get gummy when it's extremely cold. One of my goals is to have a cabin in Canada on a Canadian shield lake. Keep up the great work. I enjoy your videos greatly.

Greetings from PEI. So much to comment on. I loved this video. I noticed the Blue Kerosene lantern on the shelf. I think it's the 'Blizzard' I have that and the larger version "Jupiter", a whopping 64 oz reservoir. Someone else mentioned Chuck Porter, and I second that recommendation; great channel. As for birch bark, my simple joy is splitting a log and having one large sheet separating off then I tear it with the grain into strips for my wood stove. I have a Regency Mid box in my wood home. Man, that dog can run! I'm 61 and still heat with wood, it takes a bit longer, but I take my time now since I'm retired. I leave with a Chuck Yeager quote ""You do what you can for as long as you can, and when you finally can't you do the next best thing". All the best!

Loved watching this! I’m in Florida! But you would not know it! Ha! This is the first year in many year’s I have used my heat! It was so cool to watch Lando Zooming around the lake! My German Shepherd loved the cold temps but I doubt she would be able to keep up with Lando. Question, do you have problems with Lando’s paws getting cut? My poor “Luna’s” paws got cut and irritated from the snow. Thanks for sharing your life with us! 💨❄️☃️

I can’t even tell you how many times a video I say to myself “wow what a great dog!” We had to have our 14 year old Belgian Malinous put down in Late October. She “Sophie” was a very active dog much like Lando. We miss her and am wondering what breed is Lando? Thanks for your wonderful content.
