Hello Alex sanz. Well it all depends what you like. Seat Harness are better because you can load more weight and pop easier. But again it's all up to the rider. Now concerning me, I love the chest harness. But mine is very loose because I have broken 5 of my ribs from different accidents so I can't tight the straps and velcro because it digs into my broken ribs.
@fabienh39436 жыл бұрын
That's the reason!? I get blue spots on my belly with a waist harness. Too tight or not used to it enough? I'I've seen more tutorials with instructors wearing the waist harness loose and they seem very ok. Don't know anymore

If I go up a little higher than 5 meters, the following happens frequently. Sometimes my body turns left after jumping like I did a back roll, and sometimes my body turns right like a front roll. Whenever I jump, I'll find a solution if it's the same phenomenon, whether it's left or right, but I don't know how to solve it because my body turns left and right. Please help me.

You need to make sure as soon as you take off from a jump to keep your core tight so your body won't start turning unwillingly.

Thanks for this and other videos. I finally got some big jumps and gentle landings after following the advice to 1-2-3 (pull_backhand - pop_upwind - pull_bar). Also I am impressed by the hang-time and jump height I get with the 14m 3G Screamer, as compared to the other similar sized or smaller kites. I specially enjoyed you seeing your beginner employee follow the steps, very informative and even entertaining. Thanks again.

Awesome video and so concise Dimitri. I've never had it spelled out so simply. It seems to me that when one knows what they are talking about, one can explain it in the way that you do. I've been kiting for a couple of years, never took any lessons... been working with a 16m Naish x4 c kite and a Litewave Designs 152 board. (my height 6'2" 220lbs) I've been launching with reckless abandon and not understanding why sometimes I crashed, sometimes I don't. ( I wonder ??? I'm a bull in a china shop BTW ) I now have a Naish park 14m with a Cabrinha Excaliber 142cm and have brakes and stability. Can't wait to try jumping with your tips... Thank you very much for posting your video... It makes perfect sense to me now after years of just throwing it... Step one right hand... than two and three quickly.. than just before apex, left hand bar and get that kite diving... Thanks again Dimitri !!! In SoCal, Billy D

Hello Dimitri. I want to ask about step 3. When you say jump off you mean pop? Tnx . P.s. when do you pull the bar to max power? Right when you pop or a little sooner or later?

I watch a lot of these videos and the things you say are obvious but i wonder about details because there are a lot of things you can alter and still follow your rules. For example. 1)What preassure/trim is best to have? Is it good to have the bar on top, close to being overpowerd like having much to pull or is it better to have a good medium trim, keeping the bar in the middle? 2) Where do you have your kite before takeoff (elevation angle)? Like at 10 but deep in the power zone or more above your head? 3) How far do you pull your kite up in the elevation angle? Do you want to have your kite at 1 deeper in the power zone or above your head? 4) When you jump, do you jump up or against the wind or just with the lift? Thx

Hello Peter. I realized people loose interest after 2 minutes of watching a video. This is the reason why I try to make most of my videos under 3 minutes except the "HOW TO VIDEOS" which are between 5 to 8 minutes long. Now if I have to add every small details then it will be around 45 to 60 minutes HOW TO video. So if people want to learn more all they have to do is take the "DIMITRI BOOT CAMP" that I offer: Check the link and videos of people taking the DB camp: www.epickiteskiteboarding.com/dimitri-boot-camp/

Dimitri, will this technique work as well on a bow kite? I'm used to holding my edge and sending the kite while pulling down on the bar. I let the kite rip me off the water. When cutting hard upwind after sending per your video I end up doing whirlybirds- wicked, not getting yanked like you do. I have seen you ride and have not seen anyone since match your height and distance off flat water. Let me know if an adjustment is necessary for my Cabrihna bow kites to catch half your air. Thx

@DIMITRI don't you do a 'step 2.5' ? I mean - you seem to agressively steer the kite to 12, and when you pushed off, you seemed to pull the bar to maximize power. Am I right, coz it is hard to see exactly in the vid? Or one should pull the bar all the way already at 'step 1', when it starts going to 12?
@fysalides110 жыл бұрын
Dimitris, Great instructions! I ve been trying for long to manage good jumps but definetely your comments are clear and simple. Still a q: Do u have to go a little downwind and then start initiating the sequence?? Coz going downwind gives u more speed and opportunity to go easier upwind the moment you pull the bar
@javiguerrero2210 жыл бұрын
dont go downwind before a jump. keep a good edge to keep the lines tense. For a pop or any trick based on a raley you go downwind before you load and pop. good luck

Great video Dim. But what about sheeting out (step 3.5)? Also noticed, you're not re-directing the kite forward (in front of you) too soon, which is important because you want to allow the kite to pull you up as high as physically possible, *then* redirect. Sorry one more question: any different with higher AR kites like Ozone Chrono?

You sheet out when you are ready to land. For example if I jump too far and I see I am coming close to land I will sheet out by pushing the bar away from me so the kite can depower and bring me down softly.

I learn how to jump now, during snowkiting season in my area. I have a trouble on landing, when I do the 4th step, pull forward hand, the kite appear to be not on 10 or 11 or 9, but in the middle of the wind window in the stronges part of it, a little bit higher of 6 o'clock. If I pull, not so hard, the tension of lines disappear, and kite fall down on the ground. Also, I don't know, how to manage my legs with skis, it always goes wrong.
@epickites5 жыл бұрын
Hello "fujimotosa". The reason you are not landing softly is because of the kite you are using. You need a kite that is fast so it responds to your command. So when you are getting to land the kite should be at 10 o'clock going towards 9 o'clock to big you momentum. And you need to go put your board looking downwind and then once you land edge upwind.
@fujimatosa5 жыл бұрын
@@epickites Thank you! I analysed my way to jump. I think the problem was, that I understood too literally 12 o'clock, I put kite over my head, but instead I should position it on 12 o'clock in front of me. I will test it soon!

@epickites9 жыл бұрын
+logan hannay You are not moving the kite. Once you take off you still have to move the kite and make sure your kite is always in front of you. Then once you are ready to land pull on your front hand so the kite dives for speed. Again you need to have a fast kite. If you try a RENEGADE from EPICKITES.COM you will see a big difference in responsiveness. And that is what you want on a kite. Same thing with the SCREAMER model but the SCREAMER is more an advance kite.

From what you wrote I can obviously see that you have no idea about kiting. Yes kiting is a dangerous sport like every sports out there, and yes for safety you should wear a helmet, life vest, booties, gloves, knee pads elbow pads.
