Best series ever on this channel. Moar!

Loved this series. As a 47 year old 'old dog' I loved Richie's story and effort. It parallels my own - the tendency to injury, the slower recovery, but the definite response to focused, incremental training. Loved it. I love the Ondra and Alex Puccio stuff along with their peers for the inspiration but I sometimes find it demoralizing to watch that stuff and then go to the gym and be so far removed from skill like that to make it almost as if I'm watching an alien. This was so real and messy and imperfect - just like me and my roustabout friends at the gym. Don't care if he sends In Da House or not - what a journey, congratulations. (well, i do care a little bit. it'd be great to know if he makes it.)

Awesome series! Really inspiring to see someone twice my age still crushing it. Shows that the fun can go on for a long time!

loved every episode, sooo cool to be able to learn from tom and steve, what a dream that must be! and all hail richie for being an absolute beast, yet an honest and humble one, very inspiring indeed! we'll be seing the send of this very soon, that much i'm sure of! being at the ominous 6c+/7a threshold myself right now, i really hope to get my shit together to MAYBE reaching into the world of 8a or maybe even more someday!

Aaammmaaazing. Even After 7 years of climbing i cant even fathom how one could climb a 7a. That he nearly went up one full # in a year - increeedible! Awesome effort!!!

Fun to watch. Interesting character. Good trainers. He seems a lot more in shape after 1 year and more mentally ready. Hope he makes it soon.

Really enjoyed this series. But what I don't understand is the precision that Randall uses with grades. How can any one be an 8b.8 climber when what can be classed an 8b or 8b+ varies so much?
@moritzkockritz57106 жыл бұрын
I'd assume he has data on lots of people climbing at those grades and Richie sits just below the level that people on average tend to have if they climb 8b+

It seems like the lattice board assessments measure a very precise set of attributes. Once they have measured those things on a broad range climbers, they can see how other individuals compare to those results.

Because averages can be calculated from variation.
