radioactive although it has a mistake, I think it is one of the best videos that shows a bass. No words, only sound, just one single riff, comparison between playstyles. That is how to show the instrument, and not the player.

Nice sounding Epiphone Jack Cassidy...probably the best selling Epiphone at the moment....luv the tone...my only hesitance is that it is almost impossible to change caps, re-wire or fix any electrical issue yourself as special tools,bar the jack socket are needed... a damaged pot or upgrade of electronics is not easy or cheap & you don't want marks/dings round the f-holes...if Epiphone can make a hollow body bass with no bad hums or hiss's why can't other bass companies make quiet solid bodied bass's ?....still got that silly bridge, but it is upgradeable...some people will like the choice of 50k, 250k & 500k pot impedance...if you use lot's of footpedals i would try it out first as each setting will change your pedals, some for good ,some for not so good...really beautiful tones,well demo'd....

would I be a terrible person if I used one of these for hardcore/metalcore?
@supaF7 жыл бұрын
Dan Killen No, I'm buying one for stoner rock! Don't let the instrument you play affect the music you wanna play. My buddy uses semi hallow guitars, and you put some distortion on it, there's no difference to a flying V my other friend has.
@guymann37117 жыл бұрын
why not? just go for it dude it's a cool bass to experiement with
@valemaxema737 жыл бұрын
Definitely not, I use it for very different genres and it's really versatile and present everytime in any band I play with. It's also great with a pick and a warm fuzz
@SupernalOne6 жыл бұрын
if the guitar is crunchy, then just for contrast the bass should be furry - less irritation to the ear, more sweetness to the sound -- which isn't metal, I know, but if you're a bass player then you might as well embellish your sound, make it unique, have it stand out -- and arguably, a sizzling guitar and a rumbling bass is a successful combination, if a little retro blues-rocky
@trojanvictory7776 жыл бұрын
Dan Killen- I suggest you try one in store. It has more of a warm tone. Although you can always alter the sound with effects. Hope this helps.

Does the bass have neck dive? Great video!
@valemaxema733 жыл бұрын
I have one. I confirm the bass has very pronounced neck dive, but a wide neck strap can ease it up a bit. Totally worth purely for the tone in my opinion.

@maxwelledison99544 жыл бұрын
It does with a foam mute and if you play really soft and try to get no distortion
@reginaldfitzpatrick86815 жыл бұрын
The true glory of this bass comes with playing like Jack does. Accenting certain notes and playing them harder makes them cut and distort more. Its about dynamics I hear most people do demos of this bass and play virtually at the same level the whole time, so youre not hearing a true demo of what this instrument can do
@thewomble15095 жыл бұрын
Well, not all of us is Jack Casady, yourself included.
@reginaldfitzpatrick86815 жыл бұрын
@@thewomble1509 you've got a point there. I do own one of these instruments, and can mimic his style pretty well though. My only point was that his style really highlights the best feature of this pickup, and i see a lot of demos where the playing is kinda one dimensional
@thewomble15095 жыл бұрын
@@reginaldfitzpatrick8681 Agreed. I hate the "lets's slap the crap of of it" demos. it's all about the player, not the instrument.
