This might be the best demo/review I ever seen of a bass. Hats of to you!

Great review, but you overlooked the significance of the attenuation knob. You had it set at 500 in the first sampling, which gives this bass a slight overdrive. I've had my JC bass for about a month and have yet to fully explore the whole variety of tones it can deliver.

The only thing I didn't like about mine was the neck dive - I fixed it by adding Hipshot lightweight tuners and changed the strap lock position. * used a 5 minute epoxy to fill the hollow body so it's not going to rip out.

THAT BASS SOUNDS GOOD JAYME, MUCH THANKS

The way the notes bloom and sound like they're gonna take off? Somewhere in between fretless and feedback? Mine has that in spades if the action is just right. So much fun and really cool to use that onstage for sustained notes and volume swells. It has such character.

Hi, thanks for great review! Loved that you put it in the mix Lil feedback for "in the mix" samples: try to bury it a bit more to the mix, so there is more reality to it, also processed sound is always more loud than dry, which also ruins the comparison a bit.

It has an almost fretless ‘mwwah’ where that note really blooms.

Mostly because instead of the usual 42 gage enamel coated wire, they use 28 gage which only allows fewer wraps; becoming low output signal. They remedy that by the transformer to the jack. Not like any other bass in this regard. It really comes alive in the upper registers. Absolute magic!

How does the Jack Casady compare to the Ibanez SR500 bass? I'm trying to decide and was wondering what the pros and cons are if any.

So excited to see this one! Been looking at semi hallow bodies cus I love the look but those aren't the type of music I'd typically play.... Any idea how it plays Rock or Metal?
@deadbeatstudios2 жыл бұрын
probably not my first choice for modern rock or metal; this is definitely a character piece.

How is the weight and comfort of the bass. Looks huge. Is it much longer than a J or P bass?
@sethbrown89122 жыл бұрын
It is a big bass and it runs close to 2 inches overall longer than a typical Fender Jazz/Precision. It is a great bass and I have one that I will never sell. The variety of tones that you can get are pretty amazing for a bass with one pickup. The tone knob and three-way knob make big differences in tone. This is the kind of bass that you start playing and can't put down. You can play everything with this bass depending on the strings. Great slap sound, believe it or not!

Are those the stock roundwound strings
@joshuat19732 жыл бұрын
Sounds like it to me. To me the stock rounds could be a bit harsh sounding. I switched to TI Jazz Flats and they are perfect on the JC, IMO.
