Excellent video series. I'm binge watching to refresh my memory as I get ready to go thru my 2nd hand Epiphone LP for the 1st time.

I've watched this video series a few times now but haven't yet gotten the nerve to tackle it on my own - though I did buy all the tools. I know or my purposes, I definitely like watching the detail work so my vote is show more rather than less.

Thanks! And you're welcome. I'm still learning about guitars, always will be, and I love to talk about them, and what I've learned so far.

How to clean epiphone less Paul steel guitar pickup?
@SES8856-z5u Жыл бұрын
Did you ever do a video of a set up for an acoustic guitar? I sure could use one. Thank you!
@budgetguitarist Жыл бұрын
Not really, because aside from adjusting the truss rod, there's not much else you can do. The bridge is fixed - you can remove the saddle and file it down a teeny bit to lower the action, but if you go too low it'll buzz and you'll need a new bridge saddle. You can't adjust the intonation at the bridge.

Did you ever do a video of a complete refret of your instrument? Maybe I missed it.
@budgetguitarist Жыл бұрын
If you click on Playlists, there's a playlist where I built a StewMac guitar kit. But I decided to also do a refret. The third video (part 3) is cleaning the slots and putting in new frets, I think.

And THESE days I do it differently, because I have a StewMac arbor press for fretting. In that old video I used a fretting hammer.

Do you happen to know what year/model this was? The top is beautiful on this LP
@budgetguitarist4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yeah, I bought this guitar used at a convention. I wasn't looking to buy another Epiphone Les Paul, but I waited until the end of the day and was able to pickup it up for something like $225. According to the serial number, it was made in December of 2013, made in China. I have no idea what particular model of Les Paul it is, though.

What grain steel wool?
@budgetguitarist6 ай бұрын
oooo grain. These days I've switched to polishing cloths, because there aren't any little fragments that stick to my pickups.
