I sold an Epi Les Paul to Nil Rodgers back in the early nineties, he said he couldn't tell the difference between it and a standard Gibson, oh how we laughed when he left, but the joke isn't funny anymore, we now bow to the wise man's words.

Hi Michael :-) That man is an absolute icon. The Epiphone Blueshawk felt more like a Gibson than an actual Gibson....if you know what I mean. Cheers :-)

A honest review as always Foxy, That back finish, as Fr. Dougal said... its just like buying priests black socks from an ordinary shop, you'll just get very, very dark blue.😊

Hi there Canis :-) Yeah, I know what you mean and it's an upgrade I've seen before but never got round to experimenting with. I may well give that a try at some point in the future. Thanks :-)

@@FoxysGuitarShow The ones' I bought were from a seller (American seller) on Ebay for about $20.00 each and well worth the price. Very easy to set up and tune in. I'll send you the sellers' info as soon as I get it.

Hi Andy and thanks mate :-) I'm genuinely envious of your sojourns buddy! These things are terrific and exactly as you say, in a blind test you'd have no clue. Cheers, Gary :-)

Great playing! Do you think the 2007 models still hold up or are the newer ones significantly better?
@FoxysGuitarShow2 жыл бұрын
Hi there 321 and thanks :-) That's such a hard question. As far as I can see, there aren't really any bad ones. Some folk prefer guitars manufactured in specific countries and many reckon the South Korean guitars have the edge but the constructions are all pretty much of a muchness. Providing the set-up is good with the string height at 1.25mm at the 12th on the high E with no choking or buzzing, the only other thing to experiment with is pickups. A buddy of mine won't entertain Squier or Epiphone due to being brand conscious. Doesn't bother me one way or another but I do like Epiphone's open book headstock. Cheers :-)
@321estrellas2 жыл бұрын
@@FoxysGuitarShow Thanks for the reply! I have a 2003 Epiphone LP Classic. The sound and tone just feels dull, weak, and uninspiring compared to many other Epiphone videos I watched. I’ve considered changing the pickups but it’s a bit of a pricey investment for a casual player. Or I was thinking of selling that LP and for not much more than the pickups upgrade, could get a used Gibson LP Studio…
@ganbareshamiko1730Ай бұрын
@@321estrellas A bit of a late reply but try buying cheaper pickups (e.g. Wilkinson or FLEOR). Maybe they won't be as 'good' as a DiMarzio or Seymour Duncan, but they're surely gonna be a million times better than the stock Epi buckers you have.
