I love that you are keeping it original design as possible. living off grid always seems to include solar panels , after such a great job on the roof and decks it would be a shame , however it is moving forward . grand Job

With calking the windows,it is a good plan to install them loosely first with the Sika-flex and tighten them down the next day so you have a thick gasket that wont all squeeze out. Hold the screws or bolts and turn only the nuts. CHEERS from Western Canada!

hey been recently following your progress as i have a similar project at the moment. the issue i've had is my wooden sliding doors. it needs completely redo-ing. what's the best mechanism for it to slide and for security on the inside aswell? thanks!
@LakesideProductions5 ай бұрын
Mine just has a regular rail which the wheels slot on to. They are really for hanging sliding wardrobe doors etc. My wheels were totally worn as they were rubbing against the screw heads. I was able to get the new wheels and brackets pretty cheap. I don't have any secure lock at the minute just a regular bolt style lock you would use on a gate or something.

Great film work on your KZbin videos. Curious why no haul out before working on top side?
@LakesideProductions5 жыл бұрын
Thanks. The reason for not hauling her out is due to huge undertaking that would be. We'll certainly be doing it in a couple years time. Most likely need lots of work to the hull once she is out and in a shed. Right now the mission is to get her sealed up and livable, to enjoy life aboard.

Hi there and greetings from Kenmare. Whereabouts are you based? Just came across your posts and I'm enjoying your progress. It's quite an undertaking and sometimes hard to keep up the enthusiasm but every little success helps to spur you on. Kep up the good work and looking forward to more instalments.

Im letting myself use the google algorithm to watch your channel and for some reason they vend the videos to me way out of order, lol. It does beg the question though of how much time you spend going in circles. Doing things then later completely covering it with canvas. Perhaps this boat needed a complete on the hard year or two for the Hull and deck. Just wondering out loud in hindsight is much easier ;)
@oldwillie3135 жыл бұрын
Didn't you just do the decks in previous episodes??
@CadeJohnson5 жыл бұрын
if you have more sikaflex seams to clean out, heat the tang of an old bastard file and bend it 90 degrees. Grind the tip of the tang to an angle and it will be a good sharp point for stripping the caulk out of the groove. and fyi: sites.google.com/site/cabirmal/home

first of all, you need to pull the ship out of the water onto land and examine the hull from beginning to end, and you get that you washed your eyes, and your whole face remained in mud ...

My thoughts exactly. On the other hand, if you aim for perfection, you end up with a Tally Ho sized project exchanging your belt sander and stich saw for a complete shipyard. Sure, he will have to come back to a lot of quick fixes later on. But he will live to do it, rather than perish on the road to perfection.
