I am always surprised (while fully understanding the subjective nature of taste) that “Love in Song” is not more widely admired. It has a strange lyric and melody with some fine singing by Paul. I like its uneasy mixture of love song and a slightly melancholy yearning. Never tire of it.

I can only think Rob Sheffield was doing his only Apri;l fool to include so many Ringo tracks and no Wanderlust or Mull of Kintyre .As John sang .Strange days indeed!

I have no problem with the choice of “Losers Lounge”, although I definitely would have the title track, “Beaucoups Of Blues” ahead of it, and possibly “Silent Homecoming” as well. I know I’m in the minority but I think “Beaucoups” is Ringo’s finest album.

Enjoyed the show very much! Interesting comments and I like the way you discussed to songs in blocks of 10. I agree with Ken. Not enough 21 st century songs. I’d never have ‘Cut Me Some Slack’ on that list! I still subscribe to RS and haven’t seen the top 100 chart in the last few physical copies. Only online. Looking forward to the top 50!

Great Stardust is honoured..its a beautiful calm song. Sentimental Journey is a mood, one of his best albums. Arrow Through Me gets a lot more recognition these days. On spotify its by far the most streamed song of Back To The Egg, in the top 10 of Wings generally. I always thought it was a big hit because it aged the best by far of the album. I think the singer Harry Styles said he had the song on repeat. I think Rob just streamed the ATMP box set because Cosmic Empire became a small streaming hit being added do several acoustic playlists. Generally the ranking is a bit odd with less good songs higher but its a great and interesting list overall. Very important overall.

These lists and lists shows are ok and a bit of fun , but.... All you hear is " wouldnt be on my list" , " should be higher" , " how is this higher than that?" , "this track should be on here" etc. The fact is there are hundreds of solo songs , so picking a hundred is impossible. An enjoyable show of course , and I look forward to part two , but I'm not mad on these type of lists 😊

Just the fact that the solo-music is being given this kind of attention to us warrants doing a show on this. And it's Rolling Stone, even though they don't hold the same importance as they once did. As I said on the show, I'm interested in everyone's own personal list, whether I agree with them or not, as long as they truly know the music.

@@kenmichaelsradio748 Absolutely right , I have all the solo music , albums and singles and now ep's , so I know my solo stuff. Really there's nothing I don't like , there are no bad albums in my view. If we take Ringo for instance , I may have Silent Home Coming , either version of Wings , or Nice Way in any list I did. I wouldnt one though because it's impossible ! I've seen the rest of the list , so I know what's coming ! I did enjoy the show , so it wasn't a criticism , more an observation. I'm looking forward to part two 😊. By the way , I like Where did Our Love Go too ... Thanks Ken. Regards David Rainey.

these lists are always tough to rank. i tend to agree with the songs you all thought could have been left off the list, except I love Put it There and I love No Other Baby, those definitely would make my list. Stepping Out?? There should be a couple more recent Ringo tunes. I'm hoping the next 50 include something off of Electric Arguments, Egypt Station. Seize the Day was good choice but I would have picked Kiss of Venus off Mccartney III. Good discussion as always. Thanks!!

I'm seeing an interesting trend in this first 50. For the majority of John, George and even Ringo selections (not all) the most common reactions are of the sort "classic" "gem" "no brainer" "love it" "excited to see it on the list" "genius" etc., whereas for the majority of Paul selections (not all) it's mostly ho-hum, "wouldn't be my choice" "ok song but...", "fun track, but", "fine that it's on the list but..." except at the other end of the spectrum in the 2 or 3 lowest-ranked examples "what the heck are these #1 hits doing right down in the 90s?" Not sure if this pattern signifies anything, or if it does, what...?
