I don't think trading Casas to get Arenado makes any sense. I'd rather move Devers to DH and DFA Yoshida if they really want Arenado. Just PAY Bregman and your not dealing with any of this BS.

Yoshida should go, even if you eat a lot of money. There is a benefit to restructuring the roster and not missing out on guys that could help us for 3-6 years.

Go get Arenado for the bag of chips and then send Yoshi to Seattle with some of the money that you'll receive in the Arenado trade, For Mitch Garver or the other bum Haniger.

Interesting...Former Program Director at the all sports stations in Miami, Phoenix & SD/LA... Friends with a number of Boston (MLB) media (I was born in Boston), have done hundreds of MLB broadcasts (Fox Sports 16 yrs)... Just started following these several Boston Red Sox podcasts and I believe this podcast has a pretty viable take on the "what to do" regarding the four players (RHB HR IF/Devers/Casas/Yoshida) for three chairs dilemma the Sox face at 3b/1b/DH... Hard to find a "good" reason - from a current roster viewpoint and from the team's future development perspective - to keep Yoshida. The ONLY reason to not move Yoshida would be John Henry's aversion to squandering $50 Million... Rusney Castillo anyone?... So here's my question? What if the Sox were to "load up" a trade package that included Yoshida, Fitts, Bleis and a decent AA player, along with & $8, 10, 12 Million/yr in exchange for something modest from this other team (some AA prospect of some value, to make the deal "look respectable")? Would you rather that deal than just a $54 Million DFA of Yoshida? In essence "at what cost" do you let him go?

In retail they say, "Your first loss is your best loss". Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and start over. Plus, he was Chaim's signing. Would trade/dump something such as you recommend.

Casas is the locker room weirdo. Their were reports at one time that people dont like him and his antics. Perhaps the trade is more about clubhouse chemistry as opposed to the talent

Sign Bregman, move Devers to DH full-time & keep Casas. Devers serves as depth for both corners in the event of injury that Bregman needs to move to second. Casas’ potential & controllable years…if you’re trading him out, imo, it isn’t for a defensive upgrade in an aging future HOFer whose bat isn’t still there. I can’t imagine Bregman’s AAV is that huge when it’s said & done, & should be cheaper than arenado. Yoshi can be traded for low prospects with upside. The rays do this all the time. Make the Sox’ scouts do their jobs.

Casas is more of a DH than Devers is. Theyre both the same poor defender. Casas is injury prone. Casas isn't the face of the team like Devers is and has no 'pull' the last time I checked.

@redsoxboi fine? Go look at his fielding stats in 23' when he played 132 games. Hes a BUM with the glove. Nowhere has it been ever said his glove would get him to the MLB... it was always his hitting.

Dudes been basically hurt for the past 3-4 seasons and kept at it. Why do that when you can just keep his bat in the lineup and let an Arenado or Bregman field instead?

Casas isn’t getting traded just writers making shit up. Alonso wants a Prince Fielder contract not happening. Arenado just trying to get out of St Louis he screwed himself. Quit taking the bait from BS writers. And the Vlad stuff is BS. CASAS isn’t getting traded so stop.
