If I could thumbs up this video twice I would, it's such a great video and a real in depth video on lateral structures. I clicked on this video to see if It could answer my one question and ended up sitting through the entire thing just to continue learning about any tips. Using the measuring tool to create the xy coordinates for the lateral structures was genius. Again great video guys!

Couple of things here: the 2D boundary condition to Use Velocity was not discussed and is important. Here are some other rules for LS: -Limit LS to 100 data points -When a tributary is coming into a LS it should have its own LS bound by 2 XS's -It is important to understand how runoff transfers (or doesn't; read up on it🙃)over LS when it crosses a 1D structure

Hi Guys, amazing video as always! I was wondering if you have done a video/ are planning a video on how to mitigate fragmented inunndation in steep gradient catchments ? I am having some real issues with it at present on an alpine catchment I am working on

A bit counter intuitive hydrology jargon with 'lateral structure' referring to structures that are parallel to stream flow although I understand how it is really referring to how flow direction is affected by said structure. Is this term and thinking used industry-wide or only in HEC-RAS?

Thanks a lot for this tutorial, by the end at the video you mentioned that we should split the lateral structure, but once you have it biuld it is there any feature where you can split it just by clicking or you have to do it everything again. I would trully appreciate if anyone knows hot to do it.

Unfortunately there is no way to split lateral structures.
