I like how you talked about how God didn’t arbitrarily choose to be a trinity or word incarnate, but that it is in accord with who He is-if I understand correctly-not accidental. Also I liked how you discussed how man is not something atomic in the sense that he is an individual whose participation in faith and holiness is a project separated from those around us and unaffected by original sin. Thanks for the interesting episode! PS: I also liked how Fr Patrick mentioned denying the Holiness of the Catholic Church as a modern heresy.

Thank you for the amazing analysis about how modern society fails to understand how broke we really are. We do lack the strength, that is, the confidence, that can only come from Jesus.

I enjoy the chit chat with my heresies. Don't always watch the episodes when I am listening; do not like the soft transitional fades, but this visual device is not a heresy. If you insert the checkerboard weave transition, I think that would be heretical.

In a sense we are children that do not want to know and refuse to accept that we are children and meant to be Children of God. We don`t have to rail against our limits if we utterly depend upon and trust Our Heavenly Father and mold to God the Son in the bond of the Holy Spirit. And of course, if we are all meant to be Children of God, we are all meant to be as brothers and sisters. Family, not the individual in isolation is the nature of humanity. To say we are children who do not want to know we are children; it is to say to mature in the spiritual life is to accept one`s place as a Child of God and conform to the Image of God. We do this to the end of eternal life. We have dear destination, yet knowing it is an eternal liminality of a sort, an eternal discovery who God is and us in Him. Certainly we reach perfection in Heaven, but we never stop growing in the experience of God`s Infinity and Divine Perfection. And as God is Three in One and One in Three so we are individuals in communion, with our Creator and in Him, with each other seeing all things ever more clear in His Divine Light. When children attempt to raise themselves and make their way through life by their own understanding alone, bad things can happen. Tragic, terrible, even fatal things. We are just not meant to do that. God will not forcw us to desire His House, or lock us up unwillingly with Him forever. We can go, but all Goodness, Wisdom, and Mercy beckon us to not go. If we refuse and pass into mortal sin made immortal with our rising, we turn our back on the Father Who is Love and into collapse as a spiritual black holr, into unending darkness and we feel every little break of what was our heart, forever. To know our diagnosis is a bitter elixir, accepting it uncut, an acidic pill. To know there is a cure, and accept these things, is however balm of balms on the wounded soul. To follow the prescription in light of the Divine Physician`s diagnosis, is to be healed, and to make the Reaper`s scythe, but the Physician`s final cut of the scalpel before you await your transplant, freed from all spiritual cancer. Modernity is to proclaim ourselves ths physician and with our forged medical license to write up a clean bill of health to rail against the cancer by denying its existence. And so, it metastasizes untreated and runs chaos where life once flowed and darkness where it was light, our very hearts become monstrosities and our minds drugged into spiritual psychosis. We are very very sick, fortunately, the Divine Healer is still at our bedside with His course of Divine Mercy, Truth, and Most Holy Body and Precious Blood. We can still be saved, but it will hurt a lot more now and require deeper cuts to remove the tumors. We must not be afraid, He goes before us always and know us better than anyone else ever can. And He knows what He is about. Trust Him! Let us trust our Heavenly Father, conformed and joined to His Only Begotten, in He, the Spirit of Divine Love. This is not a perfect explanation (go figure), but I hope it is useful to someone.

Can anyone tell me why Daniel is listed as a Gentile in the CCC #58? Regardless if he his a real person or not, the scriptures say he is of the tribe of Judah (Dan. 1:6)? Also, the only thing as bad as modernity (a spiritual virus), or heresy (pride and ignorance), is scandal (mortal sin).

It's confusing, however, it is showing that they were spared according to the covenant of Noah quoting Ezekiel 14:14. It isn't saying that Daniel was a gentile just using that quote to show gentiles according to that covenant can be saved.

I think we need to focus more on serving others well and less on looking for excuses for not doing so. Instead of looking for faults, build up the members of our chufch so others and non-believers find joy and peace in Christ Jesus with his help. & Pray, not as the Pharasee but as the Tax Collector did.

Is there any time that we were never broken? Or as humans closer to God than Adam and Eve (as the sole two human beings?) Some of the heresies mentioned are too broad (equating modernism to 'wokeness' and protests) because I think there are some movements of Grace that God instills (even to non-believers). More interesting is blasphemy within certain quarters of society that believe God is on their side. But one heresy that is alarming is the kind of criticism of Pope Francis by my catholic brothers and sisters.

Do you think Pope Francis is unaware that by his speech, writings, and actions, like participating in pagan rituals and denying the indissolubility of marriage, appears to Catholics as heretical?
