Me again! Just finished watching the whole episode. I'm so excited that you're making the Color Craze. That's my fave shawl and it was so fun to make. I loved hearing all about your future knitting plans. I love my Birds and Ships cowl. I did make mine in fingering weight so it's not a good one to wear on super cold days. It's mostly a fall accessory for me! Have fun with your Ranunculus! That should definitely be enough yardage of yarn. It took me a long time to cast that one on because I have a distaste for doing what everyone else is doing (lol), but now I've made two and have plans for more! It's a quick and versatile knit! Thanks again for the giveaway! I'm so excited!

I think I've been the same way with not wanting to knit what everyone else is doing but at this point I'm thinking it must be a great pattern to be so popular! Haha! I'm looking forward to it. Your color craze shawl is what sold me on that pattern! I like how long it is and the shape! Thanks for watching Amber! I shipped out your package yesterday it should be there sometime this week 😊🎉❤️

Love your Christmas sweater! My daughter does the bra over the dress hack as well! I use a belt and tuck my sweater into that. It works the same! You were talking about how on of your gloves was smaller than the other, and I just had the same problem. I made thrummed mittens and my second was much smaller than the first. I couldn't figure out why, but I'm pretty sure I left out a 9 stitch increase after the arm hem. Oops! There was no way I was pulling that whole mitten out and knitting it again, so I'm just living with it. Your socks with the giveaway yarn are so pretty! Love that color!

So nice to see you today! 🥰 You have so many lovely knits and your crochet blanket will be so cute! I may "need" 😅 to make a Freesia cardigan someday. Too many beautiful things to make and not enough time! Lol. I just recently finished knitting a Caramel cardigan with Advent minis held with alpaca silk (haven't tackled the million ends yet tho 🤣). Now I'm finishing up the 2nd sock of the Snow Bauble sock pattern by dear Angela, Knitting on the Farm. I will soon be crocheting more on my Nature's Walk blanket. I'm anxious to see it put together. Thanks for sharing! Take care!

I am making the pressed flower shawl. Lots of fun. Might not do the border might just keep it the way it is. Saw on Ravelry other people that made it and saw some didn’t do border or did it on the opposite colors.

I considered doing the alternate colors for the border on mine, many of the projects on ravelry looked beautiful in that way. I decided against it but I do really like that look!

Hi Makayla: I love the sweater you have on. I am inspired to knit it. I am on my second adult raglan for me. My first one, I had to frog the body and one sleeve because it was too big because the merino in it stretch too much! I was playing yarn chicken with a discontinued wool. I managed to secure an only skein online. I held two fingering double. I am knitting another raglan of a different pattern. I am inspired by yet another raglan with cables. However I am not sure if I can knit cables with short rows. With German short rows, I get confused sometimes. I crocheted the tulip blanket a few years ago. It was so much fun incorporating all those colors in it. I think I crocheted a simple border to tie everything together! I’ve knitted a Musselburgh hat last month. I had to frog and re-knit it because it was a tad loose. I might knit more in the future. I want to knit some sweaters that for me this year. Of the six sweaters I’ve knitted, I have to frog three because they were too big. Last year was mostly baby knits. Congratulations on your new bundle of joy! Is great that you love children and your kids are so well behave! You are an amazing knitter. I wish I had a smidgeon of your skill. Enjoy your bundles of joy! Happy knitting! ❤❤

I totally hate swatching too. Ugh. How boring. I also wish that we could start all patterns like the Musselburgh hat. I've knit a toe-up sock pattern that works like that. The same could apply to mittens started from the fingertips and I think it can really work for shawls too (I'm pretty sure there are patterns/recipes out there). Unfortunately, it would be hard to do for a sweater (well at least for the most popular constructions). Maybe some constructions I've never tried allow it. 🤔

About using all the size 5 needles--I go through weird seasons of my knitting where I need so many of the same size. It's so odd. Right now, I couldn't find a size 3 if my life depended on it, even though I know I have multiples. haha! I'm trying this year to be more intentional about knitting for the littles in my life, and just bound off on a sweater for my youngest nephew, who asked me to make him one a few weeks ago. He's 6, the youngest of 3 brothers, so he definitely needs some non-hand-me-downs on occasion.

I want to knit more for my littles too. I started a sweater for my 3 yo but I can't bring myself to finish it lol I think it's because I know he'll grow out of it so soon so it doesn't seem worth the effort 🤣 maybe I should intend to knit the garments bigger so they last longer. And I understand about hand me downs, that all my youngest has too lol!

I agree, that autumn shade is so gorgeous and suits your colouring beautifully so don't wait til autumn hehehehe! And I'm so glad that designers make designs for just one skein. When I see shawls with 7 skeins, I think anyone who can afford that is so lucky. And ranunculus, ranunculus, ranunculii - over 16000 of them have been made thus far and that's astounding :-00000 incredible. I have resisted it as I'm not keen on the wide neckline and feel it's too loosey goosey in the pattern to really know what size i would need and what needles but maybe one day. I've stopped wearing skirts too but your idea to wear it over dresses is excellent. Oh the generosity of subscribers. They are so kind and I think sometimes they can't afford things themselves but they do kind deeds for others. it's a beautiful community, our knitting and crocheting one. I guess you've learned by now that subscribers give free things to podcasters and despite having a lovely home and enough for your four children ( and yes, budgeting is good) you mention at least once, often twice in every podcast how you can't afford this or that while showing quite a lot of your own yarn so know that when you do that, people are definitely going to offer you free yarn and good yarn too, yarn that you wouldn't outlay yourself. I can't believe how generous that lady was giving you all of that yarn. It was hundreds of dollars worth - I think my jaw dropped. She's worth her weight in gold. People are so kind. I'm off to look at that Ranunculus pattern now and to see if I just might be able to start one in time for autumn here. It would look great over some of my dresses. We might even be knitting on it at the same time...and yes, it doesn't seem to take very much yarn with the needle sizes given. yay for Midori creating such a beautiful top. The other top like it is the Love Note. Happy new year and here's to more knitting and sewing! you could make some bags with your fabric too!!!! So much to do and so little time.

Thank you! ❤️ I'm curious about the wide neckline on the ranunculus and hoping it's not an issue for me, because I typically don't like things very wide either as I have narrow shoulders and find It annoying when things tend to fall off my shoulders. Hopefully we can both make it work for us ☺️ I am so thankful for this community I've been so graciously welcomed into. People really are so incredibly kind and thoughtful. I genuinely hope that my mention of affordability doesn't ever come off as a request of any kind. I never in my wildest dreams expected strangers to be so generous with me! Their kindness and support is definitely not lost on me ❤️ I'm just sharing my real life when I record and it feels like chatting with friends so I haven't ever thought twice about that. And the yarn that I buy myself is 95% of the time purchased on sale but I don't typically mention what I've paid, so I see how it could seem distasteful. Thank you for mentioning that! I will have to bring it up in my next episode or something because now I feel crummy thinking I've come off this way.

As I've said before, I just love your podcast! I've just finished a pink lace and fade boxy which was my Christmas Eve cast on. Now I'm working on a Lento for the letslento kal with the Creabea and then I need to cast on a 'rainbow unicorn' sweater as requested by my almost 5yo daughter. A few baby gift knits on the go as well. I have 2 more weeks to knit and relax before my kids and I are all back in school so we will see how much I get done. ❤️ my only knitting goal is to enjoy whatever knitting time I get, and to knit whatever brings ME joy....so basically everything will be pick sweaters and socks 😆

So he stays up but has to do a quiet activity, such as building Legos , coloring, Play-Doh, or something like that. there are days though I can tell he needs rest so I'll have him rest on the couch with a movie.
