Man, I totally forgot about this game. I played it once when I was visiting relatives in the US. I remember them asking about my interest in board games, and then they wheeled out this clapped out old box which was falling apart, and we played a few games. Their box looked very much like yours, but there were betting chips in their copy, and you had to pay a penalty when you rolled a skunk, and I think a skunk and a two was not good either. Two skunks really stank (see what I did there??) when it came to paying the penalty. I really enjoyed this one mate, it brought back very happy memories.

There's an interesting alternative way to play my daughter learned in school, this may be just because it was in a classroom setting with a lot of kids so rolling individually would take forever - the set of dice is rolled for everyone, and each player decides if they stay in that round by standing or sitting. So for example, at the beginning, everyone is standing for the S round. The dice are rolled, everyone writes down their points (assuming no 1's). then each player decides to either remain standing, or to sit. If they sit, they're done for the round. If they remain standing, they either get more points, or if a 1 or snake eyes is rolled, only the standing players get the hit. The round is over when all players are seated, or if a 1 or snake eyes is rolled. For subsequent rounds, players do not have to stand at the beginning, if they don't want to risk a snake eyes, but if they start a round sitting, they have to remain seated for the whole round.

I have 2 copies of this game and both say the object of the game being getting to 100 points. This is also why the scorecard is laid out like that. I guess how you said it would have a hard start and end time and that may appeal to some (some of our games have went kinda long but really fun). Both the boxes I have the directions are printed on the box, both being very old copies of the game. But both boxes reflect the point being getting to 100 with the same rules about single/double skunk you mentioned. I am curious, does the box you have show instructions and do those instructions say the version you sent over? If it did then the scorepad you have would not be the correct setup. Oh, and both my boxes say how to get replacement dice for $1 (shipping included) gotta love it.

I just came across this game and it is missing the dice but has a lot of chips in it. Looking at ebay there must be a chip instruction that goes with it. I can't seem to find any instructions using the chips though.

The dice don't add to the playing of the game, it's a personal preferance if you want to place bets on the side like a "kitty" so to speak.

I acquired this game for free, same box too. Mine has a piece of cardboard with several different sized squares cut in it, would those be part of the game? Or could it mean something else? Either way, enjoyed the review.

Thanks Cedrick! Ya, mine had old green regular dice in those squares for some reason. Have no idea why.
