I just finished a Dr Who scarf for my husband. He loves it. Also I noticed that cotton yarn and any yarn that doesn't have wool with its elasticity hurts my hands when I knit. Love your podcast!

I’m thinking it might have been the cotton yarn! It’s done a doozy on my hands. I never have these kinds of issues. 😅

Hey Kay, sorry to hear you have been getting sore hands with your dishcloth knitting!! I find when I’m knitting cotton I get sore hands if I’m using metal needles. I’ve switched to bamboo in the past and find it easier. They have a bit more give in them and seem to compliment the natural yarns better than steel!
@judithcarter7898

Yes, I just chiaogoo bamboo needles with 100% cotton for dishcloths also. I’ve heard other knitters also say 100% cotton has no give compared to wool and can make you hands sore. Using bamboo needles and only making a handful of dishcloths between projects as a pallette cleanser, keeps my hands from complaining and my stack of dishcloths well supplied.

Hi Kay. Love the socks you have completed. After seeing the Dr Who phone booth tardis socks I want to make them for a friend who is a Dr Who fan as well. Your blanket is looking amazing and I think it is big enough to go over you but as you said you need to put it over yourself to see if you are happy with the size. The cable jumper that Wyatt has chosen looks lovely. You are like me and I don't like garment making either. I always find it is way too big and I don't enjoy the process. I am loving the knitting of socks which I have been knitting for over a year. I am on to my 5th or 6th pair and I have plenty of yarn to make more. I am also going to try knitting a cowl out of fingering yarn for our winter starting in June. Love the small socks you have knitted. That self striping socks look beautiful. I hope you have a great weekend.

Hi Kay! I love watching your channel! I can’t get over how your Gracie looks similar to our Peaches!!!! The differences are Peaches has a longer snout and her ears stand up. Peaches has a shorter tail. Otherwise their color, body type and size and the tuffs of hair by theirs ears are the same! Wish I could share a picture with you.

Oh m goodness, all the fun things. Your niece's socks are so dang cute. Perfect girlie socks. The Heel Toe Do-Si-Do socks for you? Amazing! I totally agree-that is THE BEST pattern for self striping yarn. I have some yarn and the pattern ready to go for a pair of those for my daughter....thinking ahead to Christmas for those. Your Jelly Roll Blanket is so pretty....looks like the end is definitely near. Gosh, you have so many fun projects planned for Wyatt and Eric. Wyatt's sweater is going to be a labor of love. All those cables...I think my eyes would cross right along with them. It's gorgeous. Eric's scarf colors are so good....SO good. Oh and yarn in vs. yarn out....if the yarn in has a project connected to it, in my world, that doesn't count. It's when the yarn in does NOT have a plan, that's when trouble starts and the stash starts to groan. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it. :)

When I go for my appointments with my neurologist, it has become a bit of a joke, asking how many inches I knit between waiting in the waiting room and waiting for him in the exam room, 😂. It is a good-sized neurology department, and I have been doing my best to see that every area or staff member has a Little Kindness Monster. Great way to use scraps and a free pattern and done in a couple of days. I once made a fingering weight one never again. Much to small and fiddling. If I don't have any dk, fingering held double works good.

A Dr. Who scarf!!!! That makes me think of the one I made for a good friend! There is an issue about colors with a Dr. Who scarf. I think it was the camera or lights used at the time made the colors look different from what they looked like in real life! I remember they wanted it for Christmas and I wasn't able to finish it in time. I had to wrap it up with a needle attached and finished it the first week in January. Can't wait to see you working on the sweater and scarf!!

Hello from Swansea, Illinois. I have only knit three pairs of socks so far this year, between moving about three and a half hours from my previous home to my new home. Plus I am still unpacking and putting everything away. I have started an adult turtle neck sweater. My furniture finally arrived, which I ordered in November so now I have a bed. I will be knitting more socks in the future because they are so easy to knit .

I'm having a "more out than in" year too. I've been tracking my usage for the past 2 years but I want to also monitor my "ins" too on a more systematic basis. I rather overdid it last year so need to be more mindful of what I allow into my stash this year. I definitely need more sock yarn but I'm waiting for Wool Warehouse to have their annual Drops sale as that is my favourite for socks.
