What a nice way to wake up! A brand new video from crazy sock lady. I don’t know if you were really asking for opinions, but I would definitely send Henley‘s socks one at a time. First of all, it’ll be three different fun things to open, and secondly… each pair will be individually enjoyed.

I guess I'm going to have to make some socks for my grandsons. They came over yesterday to go sledding. What socks did they have on? Footies. Yes, you read that right. Cotton, lightweight footies. Uck! Their mom knows better. Apparently they don't normally wear heavy socks. I was teasing them about wearing 'city kid socks' and that when they come to my house (a farm outside of town) they need to wear 'country kid socks'. So I guess I need to make some tube socks for them, so they don't outgrow them too fast. I doubt we'll have a lot of cold weather the rest of the year. I love this month's Freckled Whimsey stripes. They are so vibrant! I need to finish the pair of Christmas socks on my needles before I cast on a new pair. You have a lot of blues in this blanket! How interesting to see what colors you use during a period of time.

I actually prefer knitting my self striping socks organically (not matching). It’s what sets them apart from commercially made knit socks. Cohesive but not matchy matchy socks are the trademark of handmade IMHO. I prefer my Opal and Regia socks 8:00 as is. They have a certain flair that my perfectly matching socks don’t. Your niece will love them.

My vote is cuffs, heels and toes in the contrast color for the girls' socks.....always better to be safe and have enough of the main color. That's my motto anyway. All of your finished socks are awesome. Thanks for talking about the size you made for Henley. I have a little girl across the street who's 5 and had wanted to make her socks, but didn't know her shoe size. Found out from her Mom but it's always good to have a baseline to go by-so thanks again for that. Wyatt's sweater is coming right alone-my hat's off to you! It's going to be amazing....all those cables, oh my goodness. Your Heel Toe Do Si Do socks make me swoon. I so love that pattern for self striping yarn. I'm working on a capelet right now that is just stockinette around and around, so I'm gonna grab a progress keeper and try to get at least 5 rows a day done. There's over 300 stitches on the needle so it's a LONG way around. I breezed through the colorwork at the top and couldn't wait to see the design emerge but now it's not quite as fun. I think setting a goal will move the finishing along quicker. YAY for Wyatt getting his braces off. Ohhhhh I remember when my daughter got hers off how happy I was...until retainer horrors started. Like when she threw hers away in a napkin at lunch? Ugh. It still gives me nightmares. I hope your experience goes smoother than mine did! Eesh....... :)
