Man I swear I’m 35 but slim is my favourite UK comedian I remember going markets with my Jamaican grandparents and then hearing slims jokes years later I swear I was dying.

🤣 It's so true! The amount of words pronounced incorrectly or a different name altogether by our Jamaican parents and we go into school or place of business either writing or requesting and they are staring at you wondering "What the hell are you saying?" I wrote a word in an English essay in high school believing it was an old English word that Jamaicans used since a lot of the English words used by Jamaicans are old yet proper English. When I got my paper back I got a BIG RED question mark by the word. When I got home and told my mother complaining that the teacher didn't know proper English, my mother turned to me laughing saying, "No! That's patois, not English!" I'm too ashamed to even say what that word was. 🤦🏿‍♀😂
