My husband works for a coal company and goes to Charleston, WV at least once a month, but this week he had to go to a dinner overnight. This evening he was asking my dad about pepperoni rolls and if he’d heard of them, the place they went had delicious ones. Me: oh oh I know! I learned about this on a yarn podcast this morning! 🤣🤣🤣

I use to make pepperoni balls all the time when my boys were living at home. I have made some for them to take to their house. I haven't made some in quite a while. I will have to do it again. I buy frozen pizza dough at Walmart. .

Oh my goodness - pepperoni rolls! I taught at a high school where pepperoni rolls were available almost every day. They were made from scratch. That was in PA where there are coal mines in multiple regions.

I am from Akron which was called the capitol of West Virginia. All the pot lucks had pepperoni rolls! I have lived in the south most of my adult life where pepperoni rolls are unheard of. So funny!

Pepperoni rolls! Yes, I made them when my husband worked in the mines near Perryopolis, in extreme southwest Pennsylvania. Hope they work well with the sourdough. Enjoy your podcasts, and you've inspired me to knit many socks in the last two years. Happy knitting!

Pepperoni rolls are a thing in eastern Ohio also. As the last several generations have shifted more to higher education and blue collar laborers have decreased, some of the hand ready foods have fallen out of fashion.

Yes! I grew up in NE OH, but 1 of my sets of grandparents moved there from the WV coal mines when my dad was young - Grandma made them for us, and I think some pizza shops offered them, too - Yum!

Old Chicago makes pepperoni rolls. They sound just like the pizza rolls that you were describing. When we have a drug rep bring lunch and we pick Old Chicago, that is my go to. I love the sock sets. Especially the one that you are keeping. Another great video.

i'm not sure if this is an international thing but in Australia in hospitals and doctors surgeries there is a "crazy socks for docs" day where health care staff wear crazy socks to promote talking about mental health among health workers. since i started knitting socks i have no shortage of crazy socks to wear.

Nope, I don’t have a shorty sock pattern. You can use any pattern to make shorty socks. I have a video in my tutorial playlist where I talk about that.

I started making my own pizza sauce. It’s pretty good. Here's a simple recipe for keto white pizza sauce: Ingredients: - 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream - 2 tablespoons (30 g) unsalted butter - 2 cloves garlic, minced - 1 cup (250 g) grated Parmesan cheese (freshly shredded is best) - 1 teaspoon dried basil - 1/2 teaspoon salt - 1/4 teaspoon black pepper Instructions: 1. In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy cream, butter, garlic, Parmesan cheese, basil, salt, and pepper. 2. Whisk until smooth and bring to a simmer over medium heat. 3. Reduce heat to low and let sauce simmer for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens and coats the back of a spoon. 4. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. 5. Use immediately or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat before using. This sauce makes about 2 cups (475 ml), enough for 2-3 keto pizzas. Enjoy! Note: This sauce is quite rich, so you may want to adjust the amount of Parmesan cheese to your taste. Also, keep in mind that using heavy cream will give a slightly different flavor and texture compared to traditional pizza sauce.
