I really liked the Chris Robinson and Fedor interviews. They are both such phenomenally young and talented players and I’m especially impressed with how accomplished they’ve both become through pure hard work. These two guys are definitely good role models for the younger generations of players, especially, Chris, who’s giving back to junior players with his time and encouragement. Fedor’s approach to his craft has really insightful... something you need to ask more in future interviews. As a side note.... I really enjoyed your matches so please post more of those. Thank you.

I often here time and time again about how much hard work and practice somebody puts into their game Fedor for example said he worked on jello shots 2 to 3 hours a day for the whole summer makes a lot of sense. I remember when I would work with the break rack and it took me at least a month of using it at least two hours a day every single day at first the cue ball would bounce all over the place but after several weeks of sticking with it I was finally able to squat the cue ball in the center of the table more often than ever before. I remember during the time of learning that how much I wanted to give up but another side of me said... just keep on working at it and working at it and working at it and after about three months I really started to realize how much more power and accuracy my break developed from all the time spent on that single component. Even though I still scratch on the break when hitting a real rack of balls I still feel as if I developed an upgrade in my break. So yeah hard work pays off but it only pays off if you are never satisfied on becoming better. Improvement should encourage more hard work for better Improvement.

Joey , one of your standard questions to the players is : who else would make a good interview ? Actually while I don't know who might emcee the podcast I think YOU would make a good interview. Wanna bring outsiders to the sport? You gatta think color of money like motion pictures. A pool love story about some guy or gal that met their soulmate in the pool world. Pool players would have to have characters that would be appealing to the outsiders. Get pop culture and motion pictures involved and a great part of the battle is over. We gatta make ourselves popular/important and the world will follow. Or get some charitable events going on that benefits more than just pool players. We gatta give to get.
@DogginIt4 жыл бұрын
Love the ideas. I'd love to see a "Hoop Dreams" style documentary about pool. I think that would really help. Thanks for the comments.

Fedor man... He just puts us all to shame. Not even old enough to drink in the US and he's already a world champ... As far as bring pool to more people, I can count the number of times I played pool on two hands. I've only ever watched Matchroom events and they have promoting so-called smaller sports down to a science. If you look at how Barry Hearn has transformed darts through the PDC over the past 25 years, it is something quite remarkable. Imo though it's going to take someone else, just because Barry is such a busy man he can only do a few 9-ball events a year(plus on top of the fact, as far as I know, he has no control over the governing body of pool-like he does in darts) that it's hard to grow the game if there aren't tournaments every few weeks and consistent storylines to follow. Over time I think pool does have the same potential though, I'm not sure how purists feel about making every weekend a Mosconi Cup vibe, that's more of a spectacle and a show rather than just the pool itself, but certainly, I think that's the fastest way to expand the game. I came out of this year's Mosconi a huge fan of Fedor's and just now have discovered your podcast(I'll probably go on an unhealthy binge-watching all your episodes deep into the night. Keep up the great work. PS-Sorry for the Long tangent, and stay safe man
