A beautifully put together video demonstrating what a talented couple you are. Watching Bobby paint is fascinating. I was taught to paint in watercolour by building up layers of wash, perfectly demonstrated here. I also love the details added to Wilson and the sunglasses showing how the tiniest spots of paint can depict form and depth. I don't seem to have the patience for it now, and am more of a slosher, but these are inspiring me. Thank you ❤

Bobbie! My mom was an accomplished watercolorist and I’ve painted a few. We used luan plywood board cut in the size one needs. As a backer board. We then stapled around the edges to hold the paper in place. We could easily do washes as desired and not warp the paper. I think I remember we used a heavy deArches. Usually a full sheet. Sometimes a half sheet. When complete, just pop out the staples. I still have a board around someplace (eyes no longer allow me to do art). Stuff lasts forever! I love your technique and brush work. Good use of white space. Looking forward to the book!

@@TravelWritePaint , yes, I am! Robert was looking across some hills obscured by wild fire smoke with a conifer n the left and said, “I gotta paint this scene.” That’s the one I want. I’ll be awaiting the reveal when it comes. 💕

Why do you call him 'Robert' in the book but 'Bobby' on video? I'm curious... there's a dissonance there.

I call him Bobby around friends and family 🥰 but usually I call him Robert when it’s just us.
