Loved this episode! Love all your knits. Would really like weekly episodes in December if not to stressful for you to do. Happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy cooking and your family time.

I am so obsessed with the sweater you're wearing! It is such a good color on you! I keep thinking I want to hype myself up to run a half marathon. The most I've run is 6 miles. I am in awe of your grit for training. The Dopey challenge is literal insanity. LOL
@sundayknittingsociety724511 ай бұрын
To run a half you only have to train to 10 miles. So you’re practically there already! And thank you!

I’d love to hear from you weekly, but maybe that cuts into your knitting time? LOL! I was thinking that the light, mossy green and cream yarn that was so soft and drapey might make a wonderful striped Tolsta tee if you have enough. Or, maybe, I’d just like to do that!😂

If you have a small quanity of yarn I highly recommend the $5 in Paris sweater by Anna Maliszewski that is free on Raverly. Literally, a large sweater is less than a 1,000 yards of yarn! After I finished the yoke I knit the sleeves and then I knit the body because I was scared I would not have enough yarn. The sweater is wonderfulandone of my favorites.

It sounds like the half marathon distance is your sweet spot. If you decide to stick with that one, may I suggest the Indy Mini. It's in May in Indianapolis and is the largest half marathon in the country (or at least it was when I did it years ago). The course is flat and fast and they have live music every mile. It's so much fun. Congrats on being debt free next month, that is such a huge accomplishment!!!!!!! (And it feels unbelievably amazing 😉🥰) Enjoy Thanksgiving!!!

I had to look up Camellia Fiber Co and oh my goodness - I hope I’ll come across it at a yarn festival in the US on a visit someday. Because of the drape, would consider a shawl or the Elton cardigan/sweater? I’d love a weekly vlog in December! But please no pressure! I think that time can be so busy for all of us.

Aw man, you've managed to convince me that I need a bright yellow sweater... Yours is just too good! Also, if you decide that your ribbed hat is too big, I'd recommend the Essential Beanie by Andrea Gaughan! It's an excellent 2x2 ribbed beanie pattern designed for six different yarn weights and four sizes.
@sundayknittingsociety724511 ай бұрын
Thank you! I’ll have to check that pattern out!

Always enjoy your podcast. I think you should do whatever you feel like in December as you know myself and others would enjoy watching a weekly podcast but we also understand what a busy time of year it is. Although knitting is quiet time….right? Good for you with your running. I love to run but I have a Morton’s neuroma right now that I can’t get rid of. Ever heard of it? Holy cows it’s painful!!

I feel somewhat validated by your telling us of your fear of running out of things. I have the same issue. I thought perhaps it stemmed from living most of my life in a very small town in rural Minnesota. But I still have that issue and I have lived in Minneapolis for over 13 years now. 🤷♀️. Now I’m wondering if it’s b/c I just don’t want to leave my cozy home after I get home from work, errands, etc. 😊

Thank you! I don’t know that there’s really a reason why I buy extras. I think for me I just don’t want to not have something and not be able to go get it. Which is pretty silly because I live minutes away from several stores.

Havre you checked Ravalry for patterns/projects knit in the Camilla fibers yarn? It might give you a sense of how the alpaca drape works out on a. Variety of patterns. It might help in determining the direction you want to go.

That stitch count is huuuge. Tin can knits free hat pattern Barley has a stitch count for an adult hat, worsted between 84-96.

Yes! I was going to say, I’m knitting the Classic Ribbed hat right now. It has a worsted weight yarn, but on US 3 needles and only 108 stitches for the adult small. It’s the pattern their annual KAL, btw, in case you want to try to win some more yarn 😉
@kathyfaulk71011 ай бұрын
Is this the basic free pattern by Purl Soho? If so, you are right about the pattern. Make the smaller size. I love this pattern, but the sizing is a bit off.

I think they have a few ribbed hat patterns that are free. I’ve already started over with the child size.

HAha, are you knitting in church? I am a pastor and have never had in my services someone who knit. I think I would be very surprised when someone does.
@sundayknittingsociety724511 ай бұрын
I do! I started doing it during the pandemic when I watched church at home and found that I paid attention better. I tried it in church and no one paid any attention to me so I keep doing it.
