Dolphin's offense is being out coached by every team they face. Total failure by McDaniel and staff. Defense holding up their end while being on the field way too much. Special teams and numerous offensive mistakes unacceptable. Mike has lost the locker room. Tua return changes what? Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin was interviewed before last night's game and acknowledges he loses players because they practice hard, especially on Friday's. Doesn't care because they won't fit his team. That is what tough teams do. Toughness only comes from the Head Coach who makes it clear that is what I want from you, the players. Not vice versa.

Disagree that you don't run the ball because you are concerned about ball security...all power teams in the NFL can run the ball, and power run it. Fins need to upgrade the interior offensive line next year so they can build a power game and better protect their QBs. The problem on O is the passing game, teams have figured out how to cover 2 shell and play press coverage on Waddle and Hill...it didn't look good when Tua was in there earlier this year nor has it against almost any teams with winning records the past two years...offense needs to evolve

@jeffreytowers7222Ай бұрын
Honestly after reflecting, McDaniel called a great game. He didn’t go in there to whip a team, he went there to beat them comfortably. Outside of those two fumbles, missed FG and untimely QB caused sacks he had his team in position to win. It didn’t matter if Hill or Waddle were used, he sacrificed them to play a solid game and get a W. Well coach did all that and Mosert and Ingold dropped the ball literally! This is an easy 17-10 or 20-10 W without these miscues in a most conservative approach designed to minimize mistakes with a QB who is not ready to run the offense. This was a great game-plan to get to .500 and hand the team back to Tua. Even with all the mistakes along the way they were in position to win game until Ingold F’d up and that was the one mistake he made but how bad is that mistake really? I mean probably not a great call because the upside was probably a 5 yard run vs a 0-3 yard stuff but the downside wouldn’t be that bad. Unfortunately with all the mistakes up to that point the one thing that couldn’t happen was a turnover. Anyway, I’ve called for coach’s’ head but in retrospect he did fine. He does need to learn how to call a 2 minute offense though, that’s been this teams Achilles heal for 3 years running.

Perk, great points. Why don't you and the beat writers ask Mike tough questions? "Mike, is there a chance you screwed up this backup qb situation?" "Coach, you looked lost. You're kicking it on the sidelines with Reek and Waddle with little to no focus on the game. Why?" "Your team is built on speed not durability. Coach, why only six carries for Wright? What are you doing with this offense? Every question I hear is a silly, softball. Journalists ask tough questions. If the players and coaches don't like it, so what. Be like you are on this show...don't give them a pass. I love your passion and your takes, but Mike is immature. We should be 0-6. There's a good chance we'll be 2-6 after Buffalo and Mike and or Grier gone by Week 12. Weaver and McKenzie to be interim coach and GM. This is a 7-10 team. My team since 71'. Mike, Chris, and Tua are not answers. They're problems and won't be here next year. Big changes coming...

Tim Boyle is a 30 year old qb. You telling me he didn't understand that a dump off to Achane was not the right play. He totally was not aware of the clock. So it doesn't seem wild speculation to me that Boyle was unaware of the time or down with that wild out of bounds throw supposedly to Malik. Finally his explanation of the throw. When a qb makes stupid mistakes like that they'll suppose to say it was their fault. A qb is expected to be leader of the team. And take responsibility when things go wrong. They don't come out and say we all have to play better. No a qb says "I" have to play better. Not only that I find out Boyle had just 1 touchdown and 13 interception and this was at sorry ass Uconn. Everything about this is just so lame.
@dylanb_2011Ай бұрын
McDaniel just needs to face it: he is not a good in-game coach and should give up the play calling duties. He can still lead the game planning and play design, just stop trying to call plays. He is not good at it; as well often his slow, disorganized style on top of it leads to losing games. McDaniel also needs to study how Shula and other successful coaches manage and teach end of game decision making. And why was Boyle wasting so much time at the end of the game and then throwing the ball to the fans in the stands instead of the end zone with 8 seconds left?!?

There are many complaints about the play calling being to complicated, pre snap shifts and motions, fullback dives etc. and that the dolphins should do less, do the easier, more direct stuff. Well I think they should implement even more gimmicks annd gadgets. How about pre pre snap motions! Since there are no related regulations, every player could run around like like headless chicken to confuse the defense. Pre snap everybody freezes and THEN: a massive tohu-wa-bohu, quarterback sneaks, fullback dives, TE hides in the back field, Tyreek Hill flic flacs into the end zone... TOUCHDOWN Miami!

@@theshow1269 he can only call the plays. I am willing to bet that if you go back and watch the film, he schemed up plays to get Hill & Waddle in space with a clean passing window, and the QB either didn’t see it, or didn’t trust it. That’s why Boyle managed to step in to the game in Seattle and suddenly the passing game was actually moving the ball effectively. It’s not like the plays being called had suddenly changed. The difference was having a QB who was able to see the field and see the windows and feel confident enough in what he saw, to actually throw the ball. Coaching can do a lot of things. It can’t convince a guy to trust what he sees or be able to process well enough to know what he is looking at. At some point, the QB is either going to be able to do it, or they won’t.

Love the Podcast Poup but sometimes the guests flip flop. One show it’s why aren’t you running the ball? You pass too much. Why are you going east west when you need 1 yard? So McDaniel starts to run on those 3rd and 4th and 1 and the PLAYER fumbles and the IOL can’t block but it’s on MM’s call. They are running the ball so much because the QBs suck! You can’t trust them to make a play. Everyone bitches that it was 3rd and 2 and Tyreek lost the ball when it was definitely catchable. If he catches it, oh such a great call and great play. The QBs are killing the offense, the WRs are open as you mentioned Poup but they don’t see them quick enough. As the flip flip guest said McDaniel looks lost because everything he calls that it is not executed, doesn’t work. Doesn’t matter what offense you run. The drop off in the IOL and QBs is just bad.
