Everday, I drive down a 2 lane road going around 60mph. A car passes going 60 the other way. Each car that passes could swerve into me for a head on collision... I have been in a couple crashes in my life (not at fault) , so should I quit driving because it is too big a risk? We ALL take risks everyday to do the things we love. Tomorrow, I am going to climb into a 25 ft high tree stand to deer hunt, could fall to my death. ... I am 68 years old, am I NOT going to go because of worry? I think not. Look, we all love Tua. We love Mike. Chris is a good guy, too. I've loved this team since 1971. But, here's the truth. This team can't beat Buffalo, Baltimore, or Kansas City. Probably can't beat Cincinnati, either. These teams have mobile, strong arm QBs that are playmakers. Tua is not a playmaker. He is a functional qb that thrives in this timing offense...until he is knocked off his spot or under presssure. Again, he's an awesome guy, but we've made a serious mistake by extending Tua and Mike. I'm sad to say this, but Tua, Mike, and Chris will be gone, soon. Ross is nearly 85. He is not going to wait until next year to make changes. He was led to believe we were a Super Bowl team. Clearly, we are not. I expect him to fire both Chris and Mike before Week 12. I see Weaver and McKenzie taking over as interim coach and GM. Tua will not be our QB next year. He may follow Mike if he goes elsewhere. Ross knows he can't build a franchise around a concussion prone, limited QB that cannot create offense on his own. Tua's time is coming to an end...sad to say, his career is not far behind. Barry, I think you're terrific. Please start asking Mike tough questions in your pressers. Don't back down. Every reporter seems to just joke with Mike. He rambles and acts very immature. Let's hold every player and coach accountable. As tough and opinionated as you and Omar are on this show, you lose your journalistic integrity in Mike's company. Mike has been awful this year. His play calling, time management, player relationships...all soft and subpar. I hate to see us go 7-10 this year, but we may be lucky to get 7. This is a dysfunctional coach that I personally like...but if he worked for me, I'd have to let one of my popular employees go. If we're not getting better, we're getting worse. Gosh, I miss Don Shula...
@DemetriusChaney-m4rАй бұрын
If you expect a coach who went to the playoffs in both of his first two seasons to be fired in his third season, then you don’t fully understand how business works. Too many fans are focused on instant gratification. Look at all the successful franchises. They don’t fire coaches after 2 years. Mike Tomlin has been in Pittsburgh since I was in high school. Bill Belichick was in New England for two decades. Pete Carroll was in Seattle for well over a decade before he retired himself. Those are just three examples of building a system even when facing adversity. This whole idea that a team needs one or two years to prove that they are contenders or else everyone should be fired is preposterous to say the least.
@WorldofGooseАй бұрын
@DemetriusChaney-m4r All great points, considering at 6 years old, I saw us lose to the Cowboys in the 71' Super Bowl, then go undefeated and win the next two and could have been three SBs. And I only knew Don Shula as our HC until the end in 95'. I'm patient in business and as a fan...but we live now in an instant gratification world. And we have an 84 year old owner that was told this team, this coach, and this QB were SB ready. They are not. Ross chose Mike to craft an offense to Tua's strengths. He did. He just didn't count on the concussions or prepare for life without him. Mike has been a poor play caller and game manager since his arrival. As you may have seen in the Ross preseason interview, Ross indicated that Mike had a "unique" personality and he seemed to be looking for nice things to say. I don't think he understands Mike, the Capris, the endless ramblings, etc. Grier sold Ross on this coach and team and extending the contracts of both. I believe Ross knows he will not win a SB with an oft injured qb and a timing based offense that hasn't shown it can travel well in January for the past two seasons. I'll be in Buffalo in two weeks for what could be Mike's last game if we get embarrassed by the Bills. Grier is not Beane. Mc D is not Mc Dermott, and Tua isn't Josh Allen. I wish you were right on all fronts...but this time I don't think Ross has a choice. Changes are coming...

I think the whole offense has been rusty and I am angry that the coaches did not have them ready to go. Completely different team from the last two seasons. Honestly it does not matter if Tua or Huntley is playing. Nobody is catching their balls Jonnu Smith is performing better than tyreek and waddle. Huntley was getting us downfield reasonably for a backup QB and we kept shooting ourselves in the football with MCD's terrible play calling and the stupid flags. Aside from individual performance I think there is a coaching problem going on behind the scenes that is not being talked about. Stephen Ross needs to fix the problem he got to much money on the line. I am not going to go as far and say McD is not an offensive genius anymore but Mcdaniels needs to give up play calling or coach a different team!

Concerning the statement that there was not a single neurologist had told him he should retire. I’m flabbergasted by this statement. I am a critical care registered nurse, and I round with neurologist all the time. If there was any activity that the patient was engaging in that caused three confirmed concussions and possibly four within two years whether it’s wrestling, boxing, Mountain biking any type of activity the definitive conclusion would be you need to stop this immediately. There is not a good neurologist on the planet that would give somebody a greenlight to continue an activity that had caused that many concussions with such a short span. 🤦🏼♂️

Respectfully, this conversation about concussions is dumb. We're acting like from High school up they dont do this? It used to be and still very much is the culture of football when theres not big money involved apparently. Tua has 3 or 4 NFL concussions, other guys have just as many. Do the ones previous to his pro career not count? its all guessing and assumptions by people who are scared FOR him. Just let the dude ball , hes a warrior and i respect tf out of his demeanor so much at least SOMEONE on this team has a pair.
@BouncinddАй бұрын
It is dumb but we also need a qb that's available and can win games against good teams which tua cannot do
@Man_DarinoАй бұрын
@Bouncindd Tua has to be smarter, it's that simple. He won't quit on a play no matter what and it's those plays every time that cost him. What about 200m wrs that are ghosts without Tua and in ever big game reek gives up 6 by fumbling, or droppin TDs. the team has deeper issues than a fragile QB. but besides that yes. They have to secure that position going forward regardless. Two totally different topics however.
@richiebutz7314Ай бұрын
The Panthers visit the Pittsburgh Penguins on December third and then they host them exactly a month later. Maybe George Richards could try and interview Sydney Crosby about concussions. He’s had several; probably as many as Tua, if not more. I believe his handlers did a great job at allowing the injuries to fully heal. He’s still playing at a high level.

Something to consider is how defenses will change play calling. Edge rushers are going to stay inside rather than create a wide rush lane and they are going to pin their ears back knowing tua is not going to scramble
@fruitstrong5977Ай бұрын
Why would a neurologist tell Tua he shouldn't play again from 3 concussions? They didn't didn't advise that to Mitch Morse and he's had 8 concussions. And he's a Center , which means he's probably had 12. There were 429 concussions the past 2 seasons in the NFL and the media only want to sensationalize Tua injury. Tua is a QB and plays one of the safest positions on the field along with the punter and kicker.. How many OL and DL in the NFL , had two and 3 times more Concussions than Tua? I know y'all reporters don't want to go down that road. I hope Tua has NO COMMENT to all future concussion related questions.

Dolphin's offense is being out coached by every team they face. Total failure by McDaniel and staff. Defense holding up their end while being on the field way too much. Special teams and numerous offensive mistakes unacceptable. Mike has lost the locker room. Tua return changes what? Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin was interviewed before last night's game and acknowledges he loses players because they practice hard, especially on Friday's. Doesn't care because they won't fit his team. That is what tough teams do. Toughness only comes from the Head Coach who makes it clear that is what I want from you, the players. Not vice versa.

Tua is not happy about the possible firing of McDaniel - I guess. McD is not a good Head Coach (at this time) and his concern for Tua was sincere. However, in the end his decisions were not good for Tua - or the Team ! Tua made the mistake and owns the results. However he was aided by McD and the Fans in this mistake - in my humble opinion, by "the circumstances". In my opinion: On the concussion play, Tua tried to show a determined and tough attitude - and realized immediately he made a big mistake. I agree that the Concussion issue is serious but look at the "non calls" with other QB's. He got his "Bell rung" and should have only been held out for that Game (or two) - maybe ? He pleaded not to be put on IR. Bad decisions - for the Team - and the Owner: Mr. Robb I believe we have to be objective and also remember: "we still have a " Glass over half Full " ! We have many assets and a bright Future - if we continue on with the right decisions. My Humble beliefs and hopes. John C Reply
