thanks for capturing the tips from the experience builder and get under to get the back of panel shots. Avionics and wiring is like a Bermuda Triangle for the first time builder. Love to hear more from the experience builder's tips.
@DadandChad Жыл бұрын
Yeah, it's an enigma. I'd sugggest hiring a good avionics shop to help. I went with pacific coast avionics. They help long after they have been paid. There is a lot of crap you aren't evening thinking about that you will need help with once the place is ready to fly.

Would love to see more tips and conversation from Dan. Good idea on nut plating the cowling. Getting the cowling off the 172 by myself was always a pain. Those cam locks were always hanging up!

Awesome! We filmed more video with Dr. Don Tuesday in our shop! Should drop that video next week. We had some unexpected things come up this week and haven't had time to edit this weeks video on time. I'm working on it now.

Both planes the same color reminds me of my dad who has a house in Tucson and North Carolina with the same cars parked out front, same decor, etc. When my wife tells me I'm turning into my dad I grin when she adds "and that's a good thing".

apart from putting all your avionics s/ns etc on a sheet to carry in the aircraft, I plan on doing what I did with my O-1G Birddog and C195, I also put all the digitised manuals, hand books, all publications on a USB stick and keep in the plane, (wrapped inside a small flip top candy tin) being ex military you can imagine how many publications associated with the O-1 !) . Although most are available online sometimes you got no service. Great Vids, keep up the good work

Did you ever consider bucked rivets instead of pulled since that is what the RV has on it.

No, the kit is designed with pulled rivets.

@@DadandChad You're on! Here's a link, check out those non-standard S-6S gear legs installed in 2003 that are now S-21 standard: www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/ph-anr The S-21 door lock mechanism is soo much better than on the S-6S, I'm going to retrofit those!

@@DadandChad You can get springs for the Southco fasteners that pop the fastener out and make the cowling removal quick and easy. Without the springs it is a pain as discussed in the video.

I like using vaseline/petroleum jelly as a pro seal release agent. I would use steel screws until you have everything fit it up and then use your stainless for final install, the stainless tends to gall after just a couple times of use, LPS 1 helps for install, Pretty planes!
